No. Must be departing on a VA flight.

Thanks.

Last time we flew to SEA on VX but had arrived on QF. Also wasn't a SG back then.

Doing the same flights in June next year as well...

As a QF SG you might be able to access the AS 'boardroom' at LAX (T6?).

Re: LAX Loft Virgin Australia VA8

So VA is still departing TBIT correct? Do you now check in TBIT or still at T3? and accessible Lounge for J pax is *A lounge in TBIT?

Please excuse me if I should know this but just got off phone with Velocity and basically Rep I spoke to sounded less than certain of her facts when asked these direct questions. Taa in advance.

Re: LAX Loft Virgin Australia VA8

Thanks for that - US Airways still also arriving into T3 please?

Re: LAX Loft Virgin Australia VA8

Is there any more info regarding check in moving from T3 ?

Sitting in *A FL right now. Ok so ordering from the menu is not bad, and it's quiet. The business class section is really quite nice, not missing out on much VA Gold vs Platinum.

Except the quite excellent Champagne available in there. I took a glass or two to the outdoor terrace instead. The menu is OK, but the servings are small. The food options in the Business lounge are excellent (although it gets very crowded).

Wildl check in for VA flights eventually go to TBIT?

I don't see the need, it's only a short walk next door
I believe it will happen once TBIT construction is complete.

Yep, it is a short walk, but the current set up is really just a short term compromise.

Very true on the champagne - a few glasses of gh mumm never goes astray for sure. Especially when you're only flying PE so no chance on the plane!

They serve GH Mumm in the Star Alliance business lounge? I love GH Mumm! As for the flight itself, what champagne do they serve in J?

No ... you need to be in the First section to access the french bubbles ... and the was no Mumm when I was the in June. The available champers was very acceptable.

Mumm is a pretty average Champagne IMHO, i'm referring to the other one they had last week, the Beau Joie from Epernay. It was designed exclusively for Las Vegas, and then other markets in the USA. Substantially nicer than the Mumm.

The First lounge at TBIT currently has two champagnes - Champagne Bertrand Senecourt "Beau Joie" NV and Champagne GH Mumm "Cordon Rouge" NV.

The first champagne is essentially a white label champagne made by Champagne Charles Ellner for the US market - but ignore all that because it's an excellent champagne that's very drinkable. The second champagne .. well, I guess they needed paint stripper and GH Mumm had a few extra pallets available ;)

Hey! I happen to like GH Mumm. It's my everyday drinking champagne. Not my favourite, of course. That honour goes to Dom for very special occasions and Verve (1st choice) or Moet&Chandon (2nd choice) for special occasions. :p

As I sit here at LAX in the rather excellent TBIT *Alliance lounge, on the outdoor terrace on a balmy California winters evening, having enjoyed a shower after a very long day in LA, I can't help but thinking how far VA have come in the last few years. I've been flying with them across the Pacific since day 1 and going from no lounge, to the micro 'loft' in the God awful scrum of T3, to what we have today (yes, piece meal and not suited to everyone's itineraries) is pretty impressive. I'm a happy VA flyer!

On another note, NZ have finally moved their departures from T2 to TBIT so the lounge is a lot busier than the last time I was here. It was bound to happen as they actually operate the lounge, but still worth knowing. Whilst there are a lot more people here than last time I came through in May, the lounge still doesn't feel crowded and I didn't have to wait for a shower.

On a final interesting note (for me anyway) NZ also have 3 - yes three!!! - flights leaving to AKL tonight... It boggles me how such a small airline, from such a small country can manage this. And yes I know they have no competition on the route but still....!!!

Happy NY everyone.
