Back then when QF was running an SYD -LAX using an A380 arriving early morning, the queue would be shorter if it arrived earlier than the A380 from Korea. If I saw a blue A380 at the gate when we arrived, I was resigned to a slow immigration process.

LAX is also better because of new airside connection between many terminals without having to go landside
