I boarded a 777 from Melb this year that was only half full. I loved it.Just what I didn't want to readHave SYD - DXB return next year in J and EK changed from the A380 to 777 both ways after I booked.
i have always thought there wasn’t much separation between the government and the airline, however to be fair the CNN reporter deliberately steered it into politics in order to get more interesting TV.I get Joyce’s view. Have a good look at the CEO of QR during this CNN interview.
Once you get past the Bond villain persona it’s not hard to see the aggressiveness of the politics involved.
Sure, Joyce is no angel but I came away after watching this interview puzzled by who is at the wheel at QR.
I’m not entirely sure it is possible to seperate the politics with business in Qatar. They are often deeply meshed.i have always thought there wasn’t much separation between the government and the airline, however to be fair the CNN reporter deliberately steered it into politics in order to get more interesting TV.
I think the CEO nailed it in the earlier part when he said they had a better product.
To be honest I don’t really care whether it stays in or not. I don’t do international awards and I don’t care about status credits. I do like earning points to spend on domestic travel, but it’s not that important. If they leave and the product stays the same, I am OK with it.

MH is perfectly fine. I have had absolutely perfect flights return MEL- KL-LHR. The staff are great, the seats very comfy and the food good. Soooo much better than QF.Well I won’t fly MH so KL is out.
I have to agree with you on this one. I have had nothing but good flights with MH. Staffing and aircraft have all been excellent.MH is perfectly fine. I have had absolutely perfect flights return MEL- KL-LHR. The staff are great, the seats very comfy and the food good. Soooo much better than QF.
I was talking in reference to the CNN presenter. I don't think he was trying to push into the politics because he's an cough. I think it is because it has a lot of influence on what is affecting business with QR. Of all the One World members, Qantas a probably the only ones that could make such a statement that wouldn't be seen as whipping the partner. The other Gulf countries sure can't make such statements as put-up or shut-up as they are deeply involved in the regional and international politics around Qatar's current position.I think that’s what I said?

I am sure you are right - I am just more cynical about journalists and their agenda.I was talking in reference to the CNN presenter. Alan Joyce should shut up. His hard product is so bad.
Sorry to hear. I vowed never again on their 777 so always book via MEL if we are going with EK. Added benefits of a free Dom J connection and the SC’s, 2 lots of CD and for us ADL people a decent loungeJust what I didn't want to readHave SYD - DXB return next year in J and EK changed from the A380 to 777 both ways after I booked.
Yes. That happened with a booking I made and was flown in September. It was in F. Went from shower A380 to 777.Just what I didn't want to readHave SYD - DXB return next year in J and EK changed from the A380 to 777 both ways after I booked.
Had the same thing happen to us (except we did get the A380 flying back). This was out of Sydney. To be honest I didn’t mind the 777 at all - apart from the shower which is fun, but not essential, the 777 was fine. I think very different if you are in J, It is also why I booked Qatar - couldn’t stretch to another F fare so soon and Qatar J seems the safest and best,Yes. This is exactly why I now book Qatar out of Adelaide. Or fly via eastern coast.

As I understand it, once Qatar gives notice it wants to leave it takes 12 months to take effect - presumably to stop problems with existing bookings award booking etc. So I think you would be OkIf Qatar were to leave One World do you think existing QFF points bookings would be honoured. We have 2 business class flights booked with points and paid for ($2000 + ) for March 2019. Tks.
