Booked BA15 on our return to Syd, problem solved, Concorde lounge here we come :-)

Thanks AFF!

So... Whats the drinks list look like?

Question on CCR access.
I have a colleague flying into LHR on BA F connecting to the same UK domestic flight as me from T5. I'll be arriving on QF J so would normally have access to the Galleries F T5 South as WP.
Can he guest me into the CCR?

I would say that is a YES

Have been to the CCR a couple of times in the past few weeks... Champagne is Laurent-Perrier Grand Siecle, as per BA First. The CCR is good for breakfast before a European flight in the morning, but the lunch/dinner food is seriously unimpressive by First Class standards... the QF First lounges in Australia have spoilt us, from food to service to aesthetics. Best in the world.
On a side note, QF CL seem to be granted entry regardless of flying class (although aside from flying BA F, I have only seen this with a same-day BA J-class boarding pass)

I agree, the CCR doesn't stack up to SYD/MEL FC lounges. However, it's still very exciting walking through the secret door for the first time.

I'm not expecting much, but given that I'll be there for breakfast I assume it should be a step up from Galleries F
Kippers !! Yum :D

I did indeed make a brief visit to the Concorde Room this morning. Very calm and peaceful in comparison with Galleries First

Didn't get a chance to try out any other parts of the lounge as my visit was short and sweet :)

I was under the impression that QF First Pax were included. Whoopsy

I believe many, many, many moons ago, this was the case, at least on an ad-hoc, not-in-the-rules basis (i.e. it depended on the front desk agent, because the entry cards were always - and still are - rather flaky).

In November 2012, my QF F arrival, linking to a BA J onward flight to CDG, gave me entry to the LHR Concorde Room, with not a hint of hesitation from the sentry point outside or the reception point inside.

Did receive a snippy refusal from the Spa desk, as my onward flight was not long haul F. (Their explanation - which is too polite a word for the exchange.)

Was not really bothered. Had a long layover and thought it could pass the time pleasantly but had more than enough to do and bubbly to drink. :)

On balance, I prefer the T5 F Lounge but it was interesting to check out the CR.

I put that down to luck or inconsistency. By the gazetted rules, I don't think you should've had access.

I had a very similar situation to you in 2009 (BKK-LHR on QF F, then LHR-FRA on BA J), and I did not get access. Fair dinkum if the gazetted rules have changed in your favour...

In any case, good stuff getting in. Hope it was a nice retreat before the short hop.

Afaik.. to get Concorde room access on a J EU sector you must have flown into LHR on BA F

You may well be right about the inconsistency. Not often it works in favour of the customer? :)

Now that I think about it, I recall being asked at some stage in the journey, if I would like an invitation to the Concorde Breakfast Room in the Arrivals Lounge (if I remember the terminology correctly.)

I doubt that I knew there was a CBR. Had not used that Lounge previously. Really can't recall now whether I was given a CR invitation at the same time, although that sounds unlikely. I'm fairly certain that I produced only my QF BP and onward BP and my QF FF card. It would have been an early morning arrival, mid-week.

Each to their own, of course, but I was a bit underwhelmed and would not press for another visit. Happy with the offerings and ambience of the T5 F Lounge, personally. Then again, I can say that now, having satisfied my curiosity about the famed Concorde Room, so perhaps we can all aim for one visit. :)

I've used the CCR several times and have always been underwhelmed - especially when compared with QF F lounge in SYD. Guested a friend in for lunch in the dining room last time and it was seriously underwhelming food and wine selection. I don't bother any more. The BA T5 F Lounge is perfectly adequate.
