That date does not suit me - as I hope to be off to BNE for FT QF AGM #11 the next day! (11th Annual AGM: BNE QP Sat 23 Feb 2013)

Aside from that, working days are harder for such event for me in general.

I would also suspect that the lounge will be less accommodating if it was held on a Friday - it is after all a very busy time for them!

We had it this year on a Friday before the event up in BNE, seemed to work in it's favour. I think we started at 6pm last year and missed most of the peak hour, but I'll consult with the lounge to find the best time.

Only if the Holiday Inn and/or Park Royal are cheap, otherwise it's annoying/expensive. I often find that 2x Skybus fares and a night in the CBD can be cheaper, but that 'wastes' a lot of precious sleep time.

The Holiday Inn and the Park Royal, may not be the cheapest but I found them, cheap enough when needing accommodation at short notice.
