Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

So presumably you won't be earning the full complement of 600 SCs for this rewards booking?
Points only to/from CGK and I earn SCs via QF PC. QR is paid (the $3,5k bit) and earns a reasonable bunch of SCs ex Asía.

So about 416 SCs plus some internal Euro flights for this one trip alone. If I’d lucked in and book the QF reward seats during a DSC, it would be over 500 SCs.

I've just entered the "last leg" of getting LTP by 12 points. Mentally, I've broken it down to 5 x LTG + 5,000 "bonus" points, so into the last LTG. At my age I think it's a bit stupid to go for it, what does it achieve at the end, aged traveller, etc, etc, but I've thought, what the heck!

But the stats/forecasts do look ugly.

You must be quite a lot younger than I!
My last calc was 90 something to get to LTP. (assuming I maintain WP!) - despite being LTG for 10yrs.

Alas, no heady days of P1 for me along the way…..😔

The joys of being Lifetime Silver (and Qantas Club). Haven’t really ever used my LTQP status as only the last 2 years been Silver and not been flying very much with QF.

But the shackles will be off after my next QF flight and will enjoy the heady benefit of Gold (over Silver) 😅

I think I'll let myself drop to Silver in my next 2 membership years just before reaching LTG

Lots of good comment in this thread so difficult to respond to individual but here are some comments:
1. I travel Y Trans-Tasman and domestic OZ, with occasional long-haul, which takes a long time to get any status. Having said that I was Gold within one year of starting extensive travelling, then LTG, now WP so have have had free lounge access for a long time. (company paid for QC before that). Trips to PER and DRW help a lot.
2. It helps to travel FLEX, rather than Saver or Red Edeal. SCs accumulate faster.
3. My work travel is all through the designated TA, but the travel is booked in-house through their app, so can get flights within 24 hours, which make access to DSC promotions easy.
4. Being an aged traveller and trying to cut down on work, and training successors, travel is getting less so more difficult to maintain WP, but have LTG lifeboat to fall back-on.
4. Mrs Beano loves the first class lounge experience in SYD, MEL and DXB. She will be so disappointed when I revert to LTG!

Hoping to keep WP this year, but then I said that at the end of last year and still made it. Remember your QF bonuses, which again can make a difference. I didn't need my last one to get WP so kept it to this year and started with 50 SCs.
