Finally got there last week, so considered myself free of QFF shackles.
Now which is the better one; Star or Skyteam? Both serves destinations that I travel to/will travel to.
Have flown business on many of both Alliances. Star probably has some of the best lounges. I’m accumulating points/status with both😁😁🥂

Clicked over last night when some DSCs posted. Surprised there was no acknowledgement when opening the app or accessing my account on the web - just a label change from "Lifetime Silver" to "Lifetime Gold". About two years late due to travel pauses through the Covid shutdowns, but got there in the end.

Last night's QF72 ticked it over for me. Somewhat of an anticlimax really. Ive been moving more towards best fare of the day but this will push me towards that even more.

QF has really become a poor experience when the vast majority of my flights are 737s / A330-200s. The A330 last night was no exception, dirty seats, wifi didn't work at all (over Australia), poor IFE on ipads, broken lights that flickered throughout the flight, such a contrast when flying on CX/SQ etc.
