No premature ageing yet, still often carded at the QP!
Galapagos was fantastic, rather cold water but some amazing dives. Diving with hundreds of hammer head sharks was amazing however being lost at sea for 40 minutes as the dive boat battled to find us wasn't so fun.

I also flew a fair bit before 1999 so I don't know if they accrued SCs or if I was too young?

The card says member since 1999 so it was probably only then that you actually joined the program (or your parents joined you up).

That'd be the tier credits era?

See above the join date was in 1999.

To answer your original question - NO, you don't get a card every year. My 4 year old card hasn't worn out yet, so I have no idea what will happen if it ever does. I assume, that if I ask for one I'll get one. If not, i'm going to pretty pizzed orf.

The difference is now that cards get used more - I use mine as a BP so it is constantly in and out of the wallet.

I am hoping to do something like this with my son - he is only 3 but if I leave my regs lying around he has them in his mouth quick smart! Can't wait until his 8th birthday which will be a scuba party!

Ah, that explains it......I haven't travelled regularly for so long...........I never had my card out of my wallet in 10 years. I couldn't understand why they would wear out. Makes sense now. The modern world mystifies us 65 year olds.

Not wanting to state the obvious.... A "Lifetime" membership is simply that. So when your card becomes so worn that it is not scanning correctly, call QFF and they will send you a new one.

I can't remember when my son achieved LTG, I think about 5 - 6 years ago, (He's 23) however he never received a card as he has not fallen below the WP threshold. He did get a standard 1 page letter ISTR. He's fast approaching 25k SC's but he doesn't fly as much any more. I still wouldn't expect him to fall under WP for some time, who knows though.... He might meet the girl of his dreams, settle down and have children...... Mmmmmm.... I wonder if I would call QF or Melbourne Grammar first.

Good luck to you - pretty amazing stat for one so young:!:

Sounds like you had an enjoyable travel experience as a young one......IMO one of the most important & enjoyable gift one can receive:cool:..

Our one year old has been a member for 11.5 months but wont get any points until he is 2... it's the least I could do

I never did the PADI Bubbles program, Looking back I don't regret that as 2m is hardly SCUBA Diving, although I am sure an 8 year old would love it! I did Open Water at 12 and Advanced Open Water at 14, hope to do my Rescue and Dive Master courses over this summer.

Thanks for that, will try to remember but I can foresee myself posting along the lines of "My LTG card has worn out, what do I do!?" at some point

I don't know you at all....... However it's my strong desire that your LTG membership card will have to be replaced NUMEROUS times and NEVER because you lost it.

Safe travels.
