With antler now having a 2.2kg carry on bag is there anything lighter in the market which still maximizes carry on but doesn't overload international bag scales?

PS. Coles shopping bags and gym bags etc dont count.

Apparently Antler also make this one that weighs only 1.7 kg (called revelation weightless) and it wasn't badly priced either IMO (apparently, at £55).

I have been using a Cosmolite from Samsonite (which weighs in at 2.22kg, apparently), but I find the single telescopic handle (as opposed to the double telescopic handle, forgive my lack of technical terminology) is irritating for when you want to put a bag over the handle, as the bag you put on it invariably falls off!

I use the Spring Peeper w/ wheels from Crumpler, but it's not lighter than what you've mentioned. That said, the version without wheels is.

My sister recently used it, with a laptop bag as well, to store clothes and christmas presents for a 3-night trip to Sydney (and can only assume she packed more than I would have packed for 3 nights).

I have seen one advertised as 1.4 kg in a bag shop in Chatswood, NSW but I was a bit suspect about the fabric it was made from I must admit. They claimed it was not able to be ripped but to my untrained eyes loked like thin enough that it could be so didn't buy.

Although American in focus, the One Bag One World website have loads on lightweight bags. Try searching for "lightest bag" or "lightest roller" or "lightweight bag". A search for "convertible bags" (ie carry-on size with hideaway backpack straps) gives a great list from lightest to heaviest.

I just ordered a red oxx air boss (yes I know NOT Tumi ) which I think is about 5lbs which is pretty close to the antler weight (and a lot less than the 5.5KG my Tumi weighs in at).
