Lightweight but BIG hardshell luggage suggestions?

Unfortunately the largest Pelican Air case (#1646 - 112 litres) weighs 9.3kg completely empty, which takes a fair chunk out of 23kg when you are travelling to somewhere on the piece system.

Does anyone have any suggestions for hardshell luggage that weighs less, has two wheels (four is OK too - the extras can be removed) and is really BIG - well over 100 litres capacity. I would have thought that with injection moulding etc that finding something would be easy, but I'm not having a lot of luck so far.

Doesn't have to be bomb-proof, but don't want flimsy as it will be carrying my diver's closed circuit rebreather - which is about $25k worth. Would prefer to avoid zippers if possible.

Any suggestions?

Do a quick search on bunnings or Repco type shop for Pelican type case, we needed a case for work for test equipment which was about $10,000 equipment not the case.

I can only suggest the OLD Samsonite Oyster, but you'd have to find one second hand. Its within the standard 62" size requirement..not sure of the internal volume but I assume it is somewhat under 100 litres... (That Pelican is about 70" total) I use it for transporting my firearms and have found it very rugged, and not too heavy itself. Anything bigger will I suspect be quite flimsy by comparison, ,or heavy.

We use the Samsonite S'Cure Spinner range for many of the reasons you mentioned (hard shell, TSA approved, no zips, lightweight). They have an 81cm ~130 litre option that might work for you. It's amazingly strong and less than 5kg empty.
