The non DXB flights were always mid-year per the press release.

Well, that document linked there is from mid January. When they first announced this new service, there was no talk about certain routes only starting mid year and the one guy in the Qantas call center certainly was under a different impression as well. But hey- I'll grab a cab then, not the end of the world!

thats ALOT of EXTRA cars (and associated costs/staff/drivers etc) for a short term 3-4 months...not finding excuses... just trying to think of why they wouldnt do it!!

I don't see why a car issue at the Frankfurt end would affect a pick up for the airport in Australia. I'm feeling very grumbly as I didn't even really want FRA as a destination but booked it as it was the only port available using points.

I might be having a slow morning but when I look at the Qantas page for agents I am getting more and more confused

In the text it says

for customers travelling between Australia and London and Dubai

and the flight numbers in the table below that show this

SYD – DXB - LHR QF 1 / 2 31 March 2013
MEL – DXB - LHR QF 9 / 10 31 March 2013
LHR – DXB - LHR QF 1 / 2 / 9 / 10 31 March 2013

So am I interpreting it right that you get the transfer in SYD when you are doing SYD-LHR-SYD but not SYD-DXB-SYD? But then you are getting the transfer when you are just doing LHR-DXB-LHR? Doesn't make sense to me... Might have to go and get another coffee

Correct. Flights between Australia and London and between Australia and Dubai will be eligible.

So just to be clear, if I have J / F flights ADL-SYD-DXB-LHR, then I can expect that someone will come to my little shack in Adelaide and take me to the airport? Or would this only apply from SYD in this example?

By all rights you should be eligible considering that the final sector is DXB-SYD which automatically qualifies you anyway.

Media Release - Qantas announces new chauffeur service

Travellers connecting via a domestic flight from Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Perth, Sydney or Melbourne to an eligible Qantas international flight will have access to Chauffeur Drive. The offer also extends to Qantas customers travelling from Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington to Australia to connect to an eligible Qantas international flight.

A little bit dissapointed the Darwin is not on the list, I do hope this changes as it makes it somewhat frustrating that everywhere else in the country, on much cheaper connecting flights would be given such a service.

Perhaps the Darwin limo operators want 20% more than the rest of the country.

Does anyone know how this would work with a connecting domestic US flight? I'm flying in J from Adelaide to LA via Brisbane (QF660/QF15) and then an AA operated flight (but QF number 3187) to Vegas, it looks like I am entitled to the service in Adelaide, but would I get it in Vegas?

It is an interesting question though as to why you get it for connecting flights to a long haul flight but not after a connecting flight from a long haul flight...

I do have about 4-5 hours between flights in LA, maybe I can get chauffered in a loop lol, or somewhere to have breakfast

On a more serious note am very happy to have this available in time for my trip (August) and for the flight from Adelaide, especially since its a red eye 6am departure!
