Congrats on the 1000th post and I now predict that NM will hit the lucky 1000 by 24th October 2005 at 11pm. :-)
Won't be 11pm tonight! If its today, it will have to be before 5:30pm, otherwise tomorrow! Tonight is an AFF-free night.

Well done Lindsay; I'm sure NM will get there soon, in an august manner or not :)

Looking at posting average I'm sure JohnK is well on the way there too.
The benefits of working part time.

Talking about averages and 1,000 posts there is this new bloke that is rocketing up the leaderboard averaging 4.5 posts a day who will get to 1,000 before the rest of us. Anyone heard of Dave Noble :?:

And here I was thinking that you were referring to people who have no idea what they are talking about trying to pad their posting count.

I could argue that saying Hmm....Interesting 50 times is exactly that

The cheek of some people

Congratulations Lindsay Wilson on 1000 posts.

And looks like NM sitting on 999 will join you soon. Congratulations NM too :!:

Congratulations, Lindsay. You've been one of the biggest reasons for AFF shifting from a "ho hum, another air travel discussion site" to now being a serious reference point for anyone needing frequent flyer information.

I want to add a special mention to NM for graciously not stealing Lindsay's thunder by beating him to the 1000. Clearly you could have done so easily if you had wanted to, and it says much about you that you didn't.

Now I'm trying to work out when Dave Noble will pass my post count. I'm guessing by the end of the week.

Ah, Alan in CBR, it is but a team effort and I am merely one of the players. We all contribute to the vibrancy of the Board.

Glad to reach 1K posts, but now have some pressing work matters that'll keep me quieter over the next couple of months.

NM will pass me before too long on the post count...his average id greater than mine. Hell, I'm sure even Dave Noble will pass me in time.

It's not post count that means too much in the scheme of things. Quality, not quantity, my mother used to say (and no, I'm not GoldFlyer :o )

Anyone whose fingers can stand up to the strain of typing 1000 posts has my admiration. So congrats Lindsay and NM, on both quantity and quality of posts.

The crazy thing for both of us, tuapekastar, is that we both have many more posts on Flyertalk than on AFF...because that Board is busier than this one. I'm definitely a quality man though

Lucky I learned how to type with 4 fingers on my left hand (being a "molly dooker" as my parents called me). The right hand fingers are used for return, backspace, arrow keys and shift.

Thanks for the early congratulatory remarks. Its taken a few days to get some time to get back and make this my 1000th post on AFF. Thanks to all who contribute here and make it a worthwhile community if like-minded folks.

Since joining in 2002, the board has certainly gotten busier. I look forward to reading all the views and hopefully add the occasional gem myself as we aspire to those lofty goals.

Hearty congratulations to NM, a great friend.

Now onto 2,000 posts...and I know who's going to win....Dave Noble

I am still slightly ahead of the multi-star DSN in FT. Both around the 6.5K mark. But I did have a few months head start on him  .

I had a pack of gold stars ready to embellish Dave last weekend, but left them sitting on my desk :x . Oh well, at least it is a large pack and should still be enough for next time we get together  .
