I was checking some bookings and I suddenly find "SpecialRequest.FQTR" listed under "additional information" for a reward booking and a points upgrade booking and a full paid booking. Different reservation codes.

Will I have any issues using the lounges with this?

thanks

Nothing to worry about IMHO. From what I understand it's just a short code for "Frequent Traveller" (though I've only seen FQTV and FQTS before, never FQTR). Perhaps you can ask a VA staff member and let us all know if no-one else here has a better answer?

FQTR= Reward redemption
FQTS= Services ( where you want to use your status entitlements lounge / bags etc)
FQTV= Points ( where you want your points to go )

OK. Phoned the V desk, which I always should do but I cant be the only newbie wondering about this so happy to post my ignorance online, and the lady told me that its a "notation made on all gold or platinum bookings because they are our high valued guests".

No idea if there is any truth to her statement but Im glad to know there will be no embarrassing refusals at the lounge.

Looks like they have applied an upgrade to the online booking system over the weekend - I can see a few improvements and a couple of styling they still need to fix.

Edit: Where exactly did you see this? i can't find the code?

I sign into my Velocity account, look at "My Bookings" and select a reservation. I see flight details/dates etc, our names, seat selections and then "Additional Information" and that's where the FQTR code is showing up.

Im also seeing some cosmetic changes like under my name is V Velocity Platinum in pretty purple. That's new.

Interesting, I've just checked my two upcoming bookings.

The first one is a paid business saver fare and yes I do see written in purple is the fact that I am a Velocity Platinum but there's no additional info showing.

Looking at the second booking that I have which is a paid PE fare that has been upgraded to business class. It too shows in purple that I am a Velocity Platinum but this reservation does include the notation "additional info" which states "SpecialRequest.FQTR" which makes sense that it's an upgraded ticket.

Looks as if there's been a subtle cosmetic change to Virgin's web site.

One observation with my first itinerary which involves a domestic flight to Melbourne and then a connection to LAX, the domestic flight says it's operated by "VIRGIN AUSTRALIA" but the international flight says it's operated by "VA".

The FQTR on my reservations are only showing on my flights to the US and not on Australian flights I have booked. All sectors on my itinerary in the US show FQTR including those with Delta. I am platinum.

I've got a booking to HKG, and I've got "SpecialRequest.CKIN". Full fare ticket. Not sure what that means..

CKIN means that there is something for the agent to do (perhaps print something?) when you check in. Did you change your ticket at all?

Just took a look at one of my bookings and it has FQTR. It is a redemption which supports williamsf1 description.

My next booking has the purple Velocity Platinum and my Velocity number, and then my seat is "2A Standard". So I'm not Special after all, just Standard ;)

So a paid booking one would imagine.....or more to the point, just the type of FFer the airlines want! So FQT possibly doesn't stand for "Frequent Traveller"
