Oh and also wondering if anyone has an opinion on which currency would be best to exchange to and then exchange back after promo points. ie: which currency they think would give a bit of profit from exchanging.

Re: Qantas Cash email offer -Load and receive 5,000 bonus Qantas Points

My offer (now in the trash bin) was for 2,500 points

Re: Qantas Cash email offer -Load and receive 5,000 bonus Qantas Points

Got an email as well but my offer is only for 2,500 points for loading $1,000 in foreign currency.

Re: Qantas Cash email offer -Load and receive 5,000 bonus Qantas Points

So they are giving you a week to load up $1,000 in foreign currency, for 5,000 points? You'll lose 4%-odd in FX over spot; ~$40. 1.25 cents/point. If you then simply take the cash back (because you aren't going to travel and don't want $1000 just sitting there), lose another ~$40. 0.75 cents/point.

New offer for me. 2500 points for loading $aud1000 equivalent in foreign currency.

Re: Qantas Cash email offer -Load and receive 5,000 bonus Qantas Points

hmm how odd how everyone gets different offers, Ive been using my card recently for everyday purchases while they had the double points promotion running (1point per $1) I wonder how they decide what offers to send.

The offers are targeted based on your Qantas cash activity, they are not open to everybody.

Re: Qantas Cash email offer -Load and receive 5,000 bonus Qantas Points

As I posted in the existing thread, I got the 2500 point offer. Travelling again in a few months so handy...

Re: Qantas Cash email offer -Load and receive 5,000 bonus Qantas Points

I got 5000/$1000 .... wonder if this is the time to activate? No O/S trips currently booked until next Feb though :(

For those who have not got the offer yet... This is the offer I got...

thinking if its worth doing, I don't need foreign currency, whats everyone thinking on trying to game this with minimal loss due to exchange fees...?

So do you get offered more points if you are an active user, as a reward? Or more points if you are a laggard, as an incentive?

I have only loaded my card once, also a bonus 2,500 points for $500 initial load.... I believe that the offer has been targeted to those who are not actively using their card...

Forgive typos, on ithing.

Re: Qantas Cash email offer -Load and receive 5,000 bonus Qantas Points

I've loaded my card about twice in the previous month and daily use on card and i received the 5000 points offer if that helps narrow down who they are targeting with which offer.
