This one is being organised a little ahead of time, but it appears we have at least 2 AFFers in town, Princess Fiona and jlm. cove, are you around too??

Would like to try Gordon's Wine Bar to start things off, I think we can actually make a reservation ahead of time if we know our numbers.

When:Monday 23rd September
Drinks 6:00pm
Dinner for 7:00pm

Where: TBD

Ill have to check the schedule closer to then; I'm hoping to have dinner with a long-time online friend one night, and I think another night or two are taken up with other things. But hopefully! My first visit to London and its a bit of a whirlwind, in hindsight I should have booked for a day earlier, but September 11 didn't really float my boat(and my birthday is the 10th).

Oh bother! Just remembered I don't arrive back in LON till the afternoon of the 16th. I vaguely recall we already had this conversation... :lol:

I will be enjoying a drink in the SIN lounge(s) so shall raise a glass or two.

I hope to get to one of the LHR drinks one day!

What a shame! I am leaving a couple of weeks before this date.

I should probably get to Gordon's Wine Bar in any case. I have never been and so many people talk about it. :-)

A couple of days too late for me! Flying in on the 9th and out on the 22nd. Won't be in London the whole time, though - trips to Scotland, Ireland and Belgium planned. If anyone's around during those dates and wants to do a lunch/dinner with me and my SO, I'm all ears :)

SWMBO and I will be in London during this event, what is the dress code as we will be travelling on holidays and casual dress is all we will have with us which is probably black denim and a casual jacket, what is acceptable?

Sorry to hi-jack the thread: I'll be visiting London for the first time ever late-August/early-September. I'll be flying in by myself on Thursday 29 August, and have a few days before meeting up with family on the Sunday. I'll be staying around the St Paul's Cathedral area in the first few days and doing some sight-seeing, though thought it might be nice to meet up with some locals for drinks or dinner on the Friday or Saturday night (30 or 31 August). Is anyone around and interested in catching up?

Sounds good. Saturday night would be better ... Friday night in inner London is just a crazy nightmare. That part of London tends to be very quiet on weekends (BTW ... check out the Museum of London if you get a chance and are into museums. Interesting place just up the road, which isn't as well publicised as others)

Leave it with me. I'll split this into a new thread. Location as yet unknown, but will find somewhere close to St Pauls.
