We had an 8 night booking at one of their London apartments for the Chelsea Flower show.
Asked about a refund on 16/3.Told if cancelled then lose all and it was prepaid.
Told to get in touch after 16/4.No replies to emails and today found out they officially were liquidated on 2/4.

They were owned by a US company so it appears $US2000 has just disappeared.

We did ask about our insurance cover 2 weeks ago when no answer and told that as our yearly policy expired this week and the booking was not until next week we would have to purchase a new policy.Of course then Covid not covered.

I'm not sure why covid comes into it if your loss is because the service provider is insolvent? Does your policy cover service provider insolvency? If it does then your loss arguably arose on 2/4 under the previous policy anyway so another reason why covid isn't relevant.

In my opinion those travel insurance companies who don’t have exclusions for pandemics are attempting to wiggle out of paying claims by misinforming their customers.

So mrsdrron went searching and found more info.

Then i looked a little further and came up with this.

Which led me to this.

But back to the Rick Steves article and the Utah company sent an email to affected customers which we and many others didn't receive.

London Connection / Connections Management Group - Notice of Dissolution

Due to the recent Corona Virus, London Connection/Connections Management Group was forced to file Articles of Dissolution, on the 1st of April 2020, in the state of Utah. I have been appointed manager to liquidate business affairs."

Other sleuths had already checked with the Utah District Attorney and the Utah Company has not filed a bankruptcy petition.

Sounds like all along this set up was a house of cards though fortunately many had a good experience with them.
