London Heathrow - Terminal 3 - Upgraded lounges including new F lounge

Wow. That really surprise me. I've been through T5 four or five times. One layover included a delightful 15 hours sampling BA's lounges which included eight or so hours in the First lounge. I never encountered any problems with ordering off the menu, nor did I see any 'security'. I don't even recall seeing a sign or similar excluding non-F.

In T5, once your enter the Galleries First Lounges you can dine. In T3, the situation is different, I suspect because of the QF and IB flights?

Did you mean "The Concorde Room"?

You raise a good point. In T5 pax flying first can indeed use the Concorde room, however there is still a dinning area in the first lounge. It would seem silly to have a rule that only first class pax can use the dinning area when by all rights they should be in the Concorde room. It makes the T3 rule all the more silly.

No. When I flew to LHR-JED there was no First on BA, just old Club World. OW Emeralds can use the Galleries First (not Concorde Room unless flying BA in F) from T5 and within the Galleries First there is a Dining Room.

Interestingly, in the T3 Galleries First Dining Area the menus read 'British Airways Concorde Dining Room' even though no Concorde Room exists in that terminal. See below:

My post is irrelevant as I overlooked the pertinent "T3" aspect. My apologies if I created any confusion.

bump !
Also found a document detailing T3 perks including spa access for First and Business QF passengers:
http://www.qantas.com.au/agents/dyn/qf/policies/lonhrw010211.pdf

Now wondering why the Spa always insists on seeing my WP card instead of boarding pass

I think describing the F lounge Champagne bar as "Magnificent" is perhaps a little misleading. It is not bad from my experience!!!!!

Good work on document digging!!

I didn't realise the spa was for F and J passengers, although it's positioning points to that I suppose.
