London - Park Lane, Tower or Metropole

Hey guys, I'm headed to London for a few days in May and I'm looking at Points+Pay options as I'm a bit low on points at the moment.
I'm currently Gold at the moment but I've applied for Diamond offer via Velocity so that should come through soon (been waiting or the email 6 weeks now :/)

The number of available options has dwindled of late and it's now between Tower Bridge, Park Lane and Metropole. They are all more or less the same cost (give or take $20 and 4k points)
So I was wondering which would people recommend and which gets better Diamond service etc.

Feedback much appreciated!

Not stayed at Park Lane but have stayed at the other two.
Location of Tower Bridge is slightly better IMO, full Brekkie in restaurant in both as a Diamond. Rooms at Metropole are variable depending on which tower you get put in. Both Exec Lounges are ok, Metropole's is larger.

If I had the choice I'd take Tower Bridge.

Park lane is ok, location depends on what you are there for, full breakfast, lounge is ok, nothing flash

Stayed at park lane and tower bridge and concur that tower bridge is probably the best. It's a newer hotel and I had amazing views.

Though not within your list of preferred hotels, I would highly recommend the Conrad property in St James if the points/$ are Ok. Their rooms are modern and comfortable, and Diamonds are looked after well. Even Golds get a free hot breakfast and room upgrade.

I would agree with this. It's a terrific hotel. The other Hilton property I like in London is The Trafalgar. The quirkiest Hilton I've stayed in.

It's odd that there seems to be such an imbalance in the points + pay options vs the published rate...
For Tower its:

For Metropole it's:
[h=3]From £199 £169[/h] Per Night (GBP) [h=3]or 50,000 HHonors Points[/h] [h=3]or £55 + 20,000
HHonors Points[/h]

But for Park Lane it's:
[h=3]From £359 £339[/h] Per Night (GBP) [h=3]or 80,000 HHonors Points[/h] [h=3]or £98 + 32,000
HHonors Points[/h]

We're talking about Sun-Tue about 8 weeks out and Park lane never seems to go below 289GBP - how can they charge so much more than the other Hilton properties if there's no notable difference in standard :0

But the Tower arguably has a better location yet it's half the price? It's not like either of them are in Bumtown or Junkieville yet Park Lane is double the price

I would agree. It's just that being in the Park Lane/Mayfair area had always attracted a premium. The Tower is near the old dockyards, a railway station and South of the river- these were all historically considered negatives in London. Much has changed with gentrification and the wealth of the City but snobberies persist

It's a long way away unless you have business there IMHO, the other options are far more central to the sights.

The ferry next to the hotel is an interesting idea but it has poor transport options otherwise. even the Docklands Light railway is a bus journey away. I'd avoid unless you were doing something in the area

We had the bomb scare at the Metropole so we used the Hilton Canary Wharf in more recent times. They do a lovely high tea at HCW and it is done on the club level with great views.

Don't overlook the Double Tree Tower of London. For Diamonds it has an executive lounge with great food and a full breakfast in the restaurant.

Very close to the train and DLR stations.

Ohh thanks... I'm concentrating on points + pay at the moment (as it seems you get the best value in London), but I may now be coming back through London a week later so I'll probably do the Islington or the Double Tree
