Has anyone got thoughts on the 2 options at Long Beach, CA, using points. 1st option is the Hilton at 35000 points and the 2nd option is the Doubletree Maya at 50000 points. I am tending towards the Doubletree as its closer to the cruise terminal and looks a nicer property. Both look about the same walking distance to the waterfront area, shops restaurant and most importantly, bars etc.

Which cruise terminal.

Have you considered the Hotel Queen Mary?

I have stayed there a couple of times and it is great for nostalgic value. We then booked a shuttle to the cruise terminal (where Princess run from) and for six of us it was a good option.

If it is a Carnival cruise then HQM is right beside their terminal.

I have points to burn, hence the Hilton/Doubletree question. If I was paying for the stay I would do the QM for the nostalgic side of things. I had 6 days left over after an Alaskan cruise next year so booked a 4 day Mexico cruise as a time filler before my flight back home and it leaves from the Long beach terminal.
