Long enough layover? (DOH)

Is a 2-hour layover in Doha long enough to have a shower, assuming everything runs on time?

Arriving from BNE, departing for DUB, so not sure about terminals. Flying Y with SG on VA.

It depends. Which lounge?
When you arrive in DOH, you'll have to go through transit security, which can be everything from being waved through to getting everything checked.

After that, it can be hard to find the lounge that you have access to.
Also, many flights out of DOH use remote bus gates.

Thanks! That’s helpful. I was planning to fly to SYD to get the a380 and also because the layover is 3 hours, but that’s now seeming more hassle than it’s worth.

Re which lounge:
  • Platinum & Gold Lounge North
  • Gold Lounge

@L_MareeB you should be OK; DOH is quite an efficient airport - BUT if you arrive during the night, at peak, the concourses can be crazy busy, as will the lounges. Have a map of the concourses ready, so you know where to go after transit security. Same when you get to the lounge - go straight to the shower area (*ask the dragons at entry where they are). You will probably have to put your name down for a wait.

Good tips, thanks! The flight I’m looking at arrives at 6am. So, 🤞 that improves my chances.

Two hours could be pushing it if you land at a far gate, slow security or even worse a bus gate.

Yeah, I’d more comfortable with a longer layover. My next best option is only 15 minutes longer and timings are less desirable for my plans.

My thoughts are stick with your two hours. If it's looking too tight, be ok with skipping a shower. Nothing worse than rushing for a shower and working up more of a sweat both before and after. Defeats the purpose.
