Long Overdue - SQ F/R MEL-SIN-FRA

Being so long since in J you forget so many things - like how small the J seats are compared to F or R - like how pox the size of storage space on upper deck 380 is as o/h buns are just so small - about how when you lean on those fricking buttons each side shyte just happens that you don’t want like seat going forward - lights coming on - crew coming and asking ‘what can I do for you?’ - far from complaining as I have done >400 long haul sectors in SQ Y - all is good 👍
Haha we had the same feeling too - first & only R flight MEL-SIN in Jan 2019, then straight back to Y is a really humbling experience.
Fortunately since then there's been a load of Y travel with a little bit of J sprinkled in there for good measure. If only J/F/R was possible for all flights but alas a lack of points really does put the brakes on things...
Not 100% correct my friend - 11D/F and 91D/F have full ottomann in front - 11A/K and 9A/K still have footwell to front - avoid these - 96A/F/D/K all have full ottoman to front - best you grab these if you can.
Agree - Mrs MN & myself had 96D/F on ZRH-SIN Jan 2020 (our 2nd last SQ flight before cough hit the fan around the globe); and yes 96D/F is about as good as it gets in J on the A380 (about as close to R as you can get, really). I mean it's not really a "double bed" but it'll do the job :)

Back into SIN J Lounge and again it is a zoo - you have to really search to find a seat.

T3 is actually pretty busy - people everywhere - there is a line of maybe 50-80 people waiting to buy coffee at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf:

And who the hell are this mob?

They are totally revamping my favourite Duty Free store - you know the double storey one right in middle of T3 where you could wander upstairs and grab a free Singapore Sling anytime you felt like one 👍

Was advised 30min wait for a shower - they give you this little beeper and you just wait and return if it goes off - BINGO - it just went off 15mins early 👍

This is also same system employed for food where you order online via app using QR code on the table at your seat - there are also a couple of lanes where you can queue and order - I didn’t try either so cannot attest to functionality

Now to the shower problems - see this?

Rediculously doors open out and as you can see ‘grade’ shower mat with them when opened and clearly drip all water splashed on them during shower process all over the floor - showers are plenty big enough for doors to open in and problems go away.

I did seek out Lounge Manager to bring to their attention but they have already heard it 100 times and have told management but still no action on it

I found exactly the same problem with the showers at the (relatively) new Hilton on Little Queen in Melbourne when staying last month - after one shower the bathroom floor was saturated. The bathroom looked great, but just such a stupid mistake to have made.

Loading today is 100% full 40 J pax + 236 Y - high time 777 made return to 217/228 if not 380 - this metal is a bit of a joke on MEL most popular combo

350 Regional seats are not overly spacious - suits Pygmy’s not real men like cove, Serfty and moi 😃

So the only J seats in this config with any more space or advantage are indeed the bulkhead window seats in row 19 - ie 19A and 19K - see the bit of extra space here:
