Long Overnight Transit at Melbourne Airport

If you want dog boxes, well, there is the modern prison type, at Tulla (the Ibis Budget, with the cubicle space ship type loo and bath combo), and then there is also the rear of the Great Southern Hotel, (not the one that faces Spencer St), and also, there is the Best Western, or was, the Best Western Melbourne City, a real dog box, but no prison(esque) connotations.
If you have visited the (Old) Melbourne Goal, where they have edifice of a certain bushranger, the rear section of the Great Southern Hotel is like that,
Edit: o, it is the Best Western Melbourne City, that has the "all you can see, is brickwork view from the room windows"...

If you google rear of the Great Southern Hotel, you will see what I mean.

Walking around that part of MEL at 4am.
Eek...
For what you will pay with Skybus, and considering you have to get the Myki or have the dare to walk,
All tram travel is free within the central zone in Melbourne… so no need to get a myki. Extends all the way from flinders street to the vic markets, and from southern cross to spring street.

I knew that, about "free tram zone" that is, tho I have a Myki but sometimes, from the Southern X Skybus, I just want to get to Flinders St, to my fav at the Holiday Inn Express Southbank fast, so its a $5 pip.
From Gate 10 at Flinders, I go out the Myki reader near the Yarra River, less people there, and go across the zigzag footbridge to get to the walkway, then to City Road at Southbank.
Whats $5 anyway, lots to some, must admit.
For Clifford, the night one, coming in, yes, the tram is an option from Southern X, with a bit of a walk down from the tram stop to the Ibis Styles.
Or a straight 10 min walk a bit uphill from Southern X and then down towards Flinders.
Next morning, don't think the trams or train would start that early, at 4am, (5am maybe yes).
Even with OLCI being done, there is the chance that the words might appear, plastered across the A4 piece of paper, "this is not a boarding pass" as was in my case MEL - WLG long while ago now.
Still (in my case) needed a passport insertion into kiosk.
