Longer transit?

I am looking to book MEL-SYD-OOL with as long a transit as possible in SYD, if I book via Google Flights, it allows me to have a transit as long as 12 hours with only a slight increase in price compared to straight MEL-OOL, but if I go via the VA website (so I can apply the coupon code), it only allows me transits up to 5 hours and if I do multi-city, the price increase significantly.

Is there any way I can force VA website to give me flight pairings with long transits without using the multicity tool? Or the only way to do it is via Google Flight and give up the coupon code?

I believe you would have to call Velocity and try and do the booking over the phone. Hopefully they will accept the promo code.
