I noticed this trend on my recent MEL-LAX return. On both legs there was no holding Y/Y+ before J....personally disappointed since I was in J and SQ for example always let J disembark first....just MHO.

There was on my completed LAX-MEL flight on Saturday. They held us all back in Y+ which is OK with me, and the J cabin cleared out quickly but for one old gentleman who took an absolute eternity. It was annoying being held up by one ignorant cough.I noticed this trend on my recent MEL-LAX return. Once one peasant pushes through it starts a flow, then you have to fight traffic to get bags down.
"An ignorant, rude, or unsophisticated person; a person of low social status".
How do they manage to not have their 737's tipped on their coughs
Its to prevent the rear door from making contact with the stairs, i've witnessed several near misses over the years.
Peasants...really?! I thought maybe you were employing sarcasm but the repeated use and the tone of the posts imply otherwise. Can you at least try to tone down the elitism, please?
I did SYD-BNE return in J over the weekend; row 3 was blocked until J cleared on both occasions with 5 out of 8 seats filled on each leg. It's a nice courtesy service.

The blocking of Y pax on Virgin doesn't bother me. I actually think it's a nice courtesy for J pax who have paid more for their ticket. Malaysian and Singapore close the curtains so that the premium pax can disembark first. I hate being rushed by Y pax upon disembarkation and I am certainly no ditherer.
Apologies if I offended, crumpet.
DC3 describes perfectly my use of the word peasants. I use it to describe those whose behaviour I don't like. it has no relation to their income (however i do believe an element of social status relates to appropriate behaviour). Indeed, I think most of the time there would be many people earning a great deal more than me sitting in row three - they just have no manners.
I have no ill feeling to those who earn less or are less educated, i do have a problem with a lack of courtesy and that is a trait in people from all "classes".
If you were really courteous you would let your bags do a lap (or two) of the carousel to let others go ahead of you :!:I agree with you that a lack of courtesy and manners are all too prevalent when flying - I would just think about using a word other than 'peasants'.
I fly economy 95% of the time and like to think that I am polite and courteous - I don't take up two armrests, I ensure I'm not spilling over the seat onto the next passenger, as I like a window seat I try to get out of my seat as little as possible and I think it goes without saying that rows should disembark one by one. It's very annoying when people from the row behind you don't seem to get that, and cannot wait to push past just to get one person ahead. I laugh to myself when I see them at the baggage carousel and my bags arrive first.

I believe I am extremely courteous by not even getting close to the carousel with any luggage. If you were really courteous you would let your bags do a lap (or two) of the carousel to let others go ahead of you :!:
