Very tempting!!!

Most transits are quite a bit quicker than 4-5 hours. The ones I was searching for ex SYD, MEL and BNE were closer to 1-2 hours.
 
How are you calculating 784 status points? A discount Biz booking from OZ-USA accrues 291 each way....
 
I used to air nz mileage calculator. Also this fare books itself in J and C class which are not discount business. So win win!

Also forgot to mention you can earn velocity points too. I will update the post later
