Hi, I'm booked to fly Melbourne to Los Angelos tomorrow on QF093 in premium economy and booked an exit row seat some months ago - the exit row seat was confirmed.
When I checked the booking today, the exit row seat had been changed back to my original seat 34D. On phoning Qantas I was told that the 'end user' had made the change - somewhat bizarre as I cannot remember doing it and it would be a strange thing to do! I'm now a lifelong silver member after years on platinum and gold - so much for loyalty.:-|

Re: So much for Qantas loyalty

I would take what you are told with a grain of salt, take a copy of your seat selection via the original itinerary with you to the airport and see what happens, it could be an indication of an upgrade??

Re: So much for Qantas loyalty

What does this have to do with loyalty?

There may be operational reasons for why the seat was changed (which they are of course allowed to do) but as markis10 mentioned - this could work out in your favour in the form of an op-up.

Re: So much for Qantas loyalty

Kevind did you pay for the exit row seat or did you choose the seat at the time of booking without making a payment? My understanding is that you if you choose the seat but another pax decides to purchase the seat then you will get bumped.
This was told to me by Qantas after I was allocated an exit row seats on SYD - DFW - BNE. I choose to purchase rather than roll the dice.

Re: So much for Qantas loyalty

Did the aircraft configuration change since you booked ?
Aircraft configuration changes are common
On most/all airlines seats are "request" only, especially exit.
For exit seats the airline must be 100% confident you are capable of doing what is required in an emergency at an exit row

I don't believe the 'Pay For Exit Seat' applies to PE+ seating
