Sitting in a cafe near the Strada in Dubrovnik. Weather has behaved and Dubrovnik is stunning.

We took a 50 euro taxi panoramic tour over the Bridge and to the top of Mt Srd. Photos just roll on.

To Game of Thrones fans, this is where Qarth is located.

More photos.

We were dropped off at Pile Gate to climb the walls of the Ancient Town. This was bombed heavily in the 1990's. The original rooves are weathered, the bright orange ones are houses that were bombed.

A nice veggie garden in the Old City. House prices are around 5,000 euro a square metre here.

Opps, should read "the world", writing this in the dark whilst watching the world cup.

Yep. I didn't dispute the beach thing but tend to agree.

Just pulled into Corfu.

Very pretty.

Dubrovnik looked great - and now Corfu. All the 'big name' locations in one easy cruise (and a good bar as well). My way to travel

The barman provided a rocket fuel gin gimlet to MrP last night. No naked flames please.

Lunchtime.

Corfu is beautiful too. More pix later.

The ship is excellent Older Dame. Very nice crew. Lovely public spaces. Clean and fresh looking. But not onboard that much. :p

We took a four hour taxi tour through Corfu. We were met promptly and in a nice Mercedes. The driver acts as a guide pointing out the highlights of Corfu. Had no idea that Albania was just across the water.

Some lovely panoramas. ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1405344570.580272.jpg

Corfu is known as the Green Island. It produces wine and olives. Climate very similar to Adelaide. Thousands of candle pines (called Cypress here)

This is known as Heart Beach with a smaller heart right next to it.

Then on to a place for snacks. Baklava. Sticky and great.

The tour included a stop for fresh crusty bread, dipped in olive oil, tomatoes and Fetta. The best Fetta ever. Creamy.

Add some fresh picked herbs

MrP then sampled some ouzo and grappa - 45% proof. Rather warming.

Then on to the Monastery. Some initial angst at the gate as tourists thought the guy was trying to make them buy some rather ugly wraps. Nope, they are just to cover heads and shoulders. Ugliness stops people pinching them. Consequently de rigeur dress is rather like this:

The monastery grounds were beautiful but I found the church itself claustrophobic and needed to exit pretty much immediately. Felt sorry for the tour groups who were seated and being lectured to.

Then down to Paleokastritsa Beach. Rather nice. We only stayed for 30 mins as we hadn't bothered to bring the gear.

It's beautiful. It's the photo I posted earlier.

Our time was pretty much done so we were dropped into the old city where an iced chocolate and another Greek style sweet eaten.

Returned to the ship and our view has been disrupted by this:

It's a Costa ship. Unimaginable that one stupid person could capsize such a vessel and risk so many lives.

Remember those two Canadian guys I mentioned we met on a ferry in Venice the day before the Cruise? We now see them around four times a day. It's rather weird. Yesterday we were in a taxi tour in Dubrovnik and I was trying to cross the road. The next thing they pass by in the car and yell out to tell me to get off the road. Their taxi driver was most concerned they'd randomly abused a tourist. Last night we were at the same bar having seen them earlier at breakfast and then again just after arriving in Dubrovnik and then at a cafe in the Ancient city.

Given that we randomly met them in Venice on a public ferry, the chances of this to keep happening are ridiculous. What started our conversation was me putting my hard glasses case behind my back to get some pressure relief. We laughed about the joys of ageing.

Today they were at the Beach.

They are travelling with another couple otherwise I'm sure we'd be sharing some tours.

This view from pool deck is rather pleasant. Sail out in 30 minutes then off to the home of the Ancient Olympics, Olympia on Katakolon. ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1405349960.753508.jpg

Never thought I'd see the original Temple of Zeus - well, the pile of rocks it is now.

The beaches here are nice and have many hidden grottoes. And that Med Blue.

Thanks Puska for taking the time to post the great photos and ensuring we are extremely jealous of your great holiday in sunny climates! Much appreciated.

Lovely photos. I might be getting too jealous to keep reading this thread :p
