...

Why even post things at all when they clearly have no idea?

Because they want make money by having people click onto their website:

"Qantas frequent flyers: what points, perks do you get on Emirates? "

... Would likely encourage more people to click through to read an article than a possibly more accurate:

"Qantas frequent flyers: No fresh news on points, perks with Emirates!"

I'm a QF WP, if I fly to DXB, and then have an onward connection on a EK numbered flight (on EK metal too), what lounges can I use at DXB?

Hoping to use a lounge with showers so I can refresh and go direct to work after the connection.

I have not checked them out myself but I believe there is not many showers available, so get in quick!

I'm likely to have a 3hr connection, and thats from about midnight to 3am DXB time, so I hope its not overly busy at that time..anyhow, we'll see what happens.

Less than 10 pax in the F lounge at midnight when I went...

Agree... Like a ghost town when I have been through. That said, it isn't exactly a small lounge, so it is deceiving how many people are actually in there.

Given the passengers likely to be looking for a shower are WPs etc off the QF flights, I would expect some demand, EK pax in the F lounge are likely to use the onboard showers in a lot of cases ;)

I actually counted (did a round trip walk)... was quite surprised myself how much of a ghost town it was.

There are 5 men's showers (and I guess 5 ladies also). They are fine except that the ventilation/aircon doesn't seem to work too well and the rooms get really warm/humid. I used the showers twice (QF9/10), a week apart, and came out sweating so much!! And that was with the water temp on lukewarm. I had to open to door (once dressed) to cool down the shower room. Probably just a teething glitch in the new terminal! There was no waiting for a shower either time.

Similar experience with the women's showers. Very warm and fairly basic, considering the rest of the facilities there, but quite adequate. And I was the sole user during a MEL-DXB-LHR transit two weeks ago. Looked to be the same lack of demand for the men's showers at that time, too. I recall reading somewhere that there are two banks of showers, so if there does happen to be a queue, may be worth asking an attendant. Good luck, SBF! :)

What access rights does a WP have to EK lounges in the UK, excluding LHR? I will be transiting with my parents through NCL in less than 2 weeks and the lady on the WP line this evening advised that I would have no access to the EK lounge which surprised me. Something about they are still to agree lounge access rights. I will not let this deter me as that is a downgrade having been able to use the BA lounge on previous trips on One World flights. Since the EK partnership was aimed at opening up more destinations it is a bit of a cheek that you get less privileges. I have looked on both QF and EK websites but unless you are travelling via LHR it is seemingly not worth publishing on the Internet!

I did find the following on AusBT from March 22nd but it seems to contradict what the lady on the WP line stated?

It would be good to have an idea from the experts before hand. Thanks in advance!

NCL is not an EK lounge, its a partner lounge so no access.

Just to follow up, my trip to India wont be via DXB - which I was very much looking forward to. Will be through HKG instead..*sigh*

Oh no, you'll have to content yourself with a Cabana at The Wing. How dreadful!

Can I access FLounge in MEL/SYD if I do a EK A380 flight to NZ?

Was there on the second day it was open! HKG has plenty of choice for OWE lounges..I'll probably just choose one thats closest to the gate im departing from.

I just checked the QF website and it states that WP/SG have access to EK lounges worldwide - with the exception of T3 LHR unless flying on an EK marketed flight.

Just have to slum it in the BA Flounge instead.
