We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

I'm flying out of CDG Paris on Tuesday. I'm in Economy, but OWE. Qantas say to use the Salon Paul Maxence in Terminal 2A. But QF34 leaves from Terminal 2C. Will that be a problem? Anyone with experience of this?

If I assign a QF lounge pass to my dad who is flying on QF2 LHR SIN SYD - does he get lounge access in both LHR and SIN given it’s one flight number?

2A and 2C are essentially one terminal - they share a number of the terminal functions (and a roof), and there is very little to announce that you have changed from one to the other. (Apart from not seeing signs pointing to 2C anymore)
The lounge is upstairs in the centre of the two (the sign to the Emirates lounge may be easier to spot - they're next door); the signage when rejoining the concourse should get you from A to C.

Yes, you can - by virtue of your Gold Elite status, as a J ticket alone doesn't allow you to bring in a guest based on Star Alliance rules. Should work at any Star Alliance designated lounges with your SQ status.

I'm flying United Airlines domestic first class (P) out of LAX Terminal 7 to SFO. I don't have any *A status.

I'm aware that UA domestic first passengers do not have access to the United lounges, however I'm wondering if I'll be able to access the other *A lounges at LAX:

1. the Air Canada Maple Leaf lounge at Terminal 6 (a 5-10min walk from T7); or

2. the Star Alliance LAX lounge at Terminal B (a 20-30min walk from T7).

I plan to be at LAX 2-3 hours before the flight so I should have ample time for the return walk from T7 to Terminal B if a UA domestic first class ticket can grant access the Star Alliance Lounge.

Thanks. I wasn't sure about Star Alliance lounge access as the *A website only mentioned a restriction for UA domestic first/business and UA lounges but did not mention other *A partner lounges.

The Air Canada website did mention lounge access is available for Business/First Class Ticket Holders "For a flight with Air Canada, Air Canada Express or Air Canada Rouge or a flight with one of our codeshare or Star Alliance partners" so I had thought I could be able to access that one.

In a word. No.

One pass, one person, one lounge visit.

He can only use the pass at LHR.
It’s not possible to use a lounge pass at SIN on either QF1/2 as a direct SYD/LHR and vv.

Is that a technical limitation? Does it also apply in AKL for QF3/4 or is it actually managing SIN capacity?

Yes it’s a technical limitation.
Haven’t tried to transfer one for QF3/4 at AKL (I have at SIN) but I would imagine it would be the same limitation.

Will I be able to access any lounges? Or will I need Amex/PP?

Your OWS status will mean nothing on this trip (zero benefits) and you won’t earn any points with any program other then QF/EK.

This means lounge access will be a PP/Amex situation.

Hi all, my family of 4 has an upcoming international flight with Qantas in J. As a QF platinum member, I will be able to guest my partner and 2 children to the First lounge. However, by the time we fly, one of them will be 18+.

I would appreciate any previous experience on a similar situation.

I think I know the answer to this, but thought I’d check. If lounge pass has expiry date in March, is that for date of lounge entry, or for date it’s attached to a booking (April)? Hoping it’s the latter, but presume it’s the former.

it is date of lounge entry. there are a few facebook groups, where people trade and swap to extend lounge passes, vouchers, etc.
