Hi all, question on lounge access, tried looking on Cathay site but can't find anything. Arriving into HKIA on Cathay as Oneworld Emerald at 5am, than transferring to the ferry to mainland China at 11:30am. Ideally, I would want to have a shower and some breakfast at The Pier and than transfer to the ferry terminal. Is this possible as i would need to transfer through to the airport departure to get to the pier, or is there any other lounge access available at the ferry terminal. Has anyone done this route before that can assist?

Can't help re the ferry terminal, but I am afraid you are out of luck as far as Cathay lounges at HKG. All the lounges are in the Departures Airside, and you can't get to it after arrival. The old Cathay arrivals lounge was shut years ago - that used to be the option.

Thanks for the response, knew the arrivals lounge was closed, sounds like it will will be a long wait for the ferry…

Not that I've done it that way, but pretty sure the transfer to the ferries is a separate path to transferring to another flight., or alternatively if luggage then you need to to claim it and enter HK.

Basically no way to get airside in the airport

Hi, yes it wasn't great, couldn't get airside and basically sat and waited on a couch with a bunch of other people for the check in to open as I landed at 5am. There was a small store open that can be seen on the way to immigration to enter HK which was selling drinks and some snacks.

Once you check in and make your way over to the wharf, it's not much better, but at least there is natural light, and there is a 7/11 there with drinks and snacks. I have booked again through Cathay but called to make the booking and got a connecting flight to GZ rather than the boat next time so i can get airside, have a shower and be ready for the day.
