Settled in with a champagne in a cabana at the Wing F lounge - by far the best lounge in HKG.

Probably some sort of account mechanism, and in many cases chargeback, flying EY the SATS Premium Lounge wrote out one for me on the spot, and then filed it!

3rd party lounges I can understand but when flying cx and using cx's own lounge there shouldn't be a need for one considering they always scan your BP on entry. Ah well maybe one day they will phase it out

I think its just accounting, the lounge passes being handed in give the bean counters a way of working out utilisation.

I think the 'lounge pass' thing makes some sense at share lounges like when you are flying HA on a VA ticket and using the Koru club it's easy identification for the lounge staff who can get a bit 'confused'. But outside of share lounges is it just an anachronism? They couldn't provide any sort if official count especially with AFF types lounge hopping to every eligible lounge available !

Have I missed one? Is one better than another? Does anyone have a floor plan so I can plan my route?

I haven't tried the Bridge yet but the others are all OK. I think it is worth trying the Qantas lounge as well if it is open.

The Wing is closest to check-in and immigration so that should be first port of call unless you are in transit. If you have time the Qantas lounge is not too far.

Then about a 5-10 minute walk to the Cabin near gate 23.

Then a ~5 minute walk to the Bridge near gate 35.

And finally a 5-10 minute walk to the Pier near gate 62.

Make a note for your gate and allow enough time to get back.

The WING is ok but not without some issues. Try going there late in the afternoon when the sun is low and blaring
through the glass terminal windows, you cant get any shade from it.
Also the cafeteria style buffet is pretty limited and not up to first class standard IMHO

I arrive into HKG on QF87 at 5am and depart on a CX flight at 10am. What's a good strategy to spend these 5 hours in HKG? I'm keen on a good shower and a good meal. I'm OWE and will be flying in J.

OWE only one lounge choice - the CX Wing (F) section.

Enjoy time in a cabana if they have one available.

Even though I don't love The Wing lounge itself, the F shower rooms are excellent and the best I have used at HKG

Trying to remember if this was the from the Wing or not in June. Went back for seconds and thirds. The beef melted in your mouth. As good as I have ever had anywhere. Hope it's in the buffet again in 3 weeks.



And it's definitely not bistro food.

Superb.

The buffet food looked great too, of very high quality. Certainly better than what was on offer in the Qantas lounge. IMHO

My partner had the fish dish and she thought it was excellent too.

was in QF lounge last week, was quite nice, good service too, got served dinner (not the buffet, the dish they prepare) at 6PM at the table after ordering on arrival, got served drinks and refills, only got up to have a shower and some of the very very nice cheesecake

BBQ Char Siu pork dish at QF lounge a few weeks ago, very nice. With signature coughtail too. All up spent 15 mins here then had to dash off, though spent the previous hour in CX wing F.

Definitely The Wing F. I'd grab a Cabana first up and have a nice long soak before brekkie
