It seems you can get into the MH Golden Lounge prior to an outgoing MH Y flight if your flight into KLIA was MH J. So mrsdoctau and I will be in the regional lounge for the next five and a half hours.

Pretty sure that rule applies to all OW flights.

I din't know too much about what rules OW has for airlines outside of what status gives you and interlining bags, so wasn't sure. The MH website doesn't make finding out information about lounge access easy, and the incoming J and outgoing Y flights were also on different PNRs which could have made it more complicated.

Now that I look at Lounge access - oneworld it's obvious:
"First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 6am the following day, can access the lounge when travelling between an international long haul (a oneworld international long haul flight is defined as an international flight marketed and operated by any oneworld carrier with a scheduled flight time longer than 5 hours) and an international short haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa)."

Keep an eye out for my flight if you happen to get in early. I am on the 6:05pm.

I did manage to get in early - the morning flight out of ABX was delayed due to fog so I was able to get on it and leave earlier than the later afternoon flight I was originally booked on. I'm now at the Virgin Lounge in SYD so keep an eye out for my flight (I'm on the 6pm to BNE)...
