Low Aussie dollar and finding value from xONEx fares

Do you think the previously annouced Oneworld online booking system will reduce/remove the need to go through this offshore booking process with the AA ATW desk and then paying the local office? Is it likely that they will just accept the starting country (or nominated country) for ATW itineraries and calculate fare accordingly. Or do you think they'll try to verify country of residence?

I suppose it will give other airlines the chance to pick up fuel fines that might not be included when booking via AA.

Of course for those not needing the full flexibility of a DONEx, the DGLOBE34 ex Fiji used to be a reasoanable option ... but now even it has increased to $7.5K, due to deterioriation of the AUD vs FJD!

Thanks, Dajob, that's one I had forgotten about and not a bad option given it is possible to get cheap paid flights to Fiji (eg Virgin from BNE).

Many thanks to others for sharing their experiences and ideas.

Hopefully the new fare rules will allow a booking via AA UK office for an ex-SA xONEx at local prices!

A quick check of the timetable suggests QF577 SYD-PER at midday and QF566 PER-SYD at 4.15pm will have the 333.

How does one get a xONEx ex-Korea ticket ticketed?

I read AAkorea want you to present to their office for payment - which I can't do but able to fax, email etc my CC details, so any other airline alternatives/suggestions?

With the new EU exception you can simply ring up AA UK to pay by CC at the ex-ICN fare level.

I was also looking at originating a XONEX from ICN, and determined the best way to get there was Deathstar *class to KIX and then a Zone 1 award redemption (10K points Y, 18K points J) on JL etc for a 1-2 hour flight.

The *class ticket costs $1250 and nets a wad of J SCs too! And its just slightly better than flying Y.

Hey I'm thinking of booking ex-ICN, Do you have more details about booking/paying by CC through AA UK? :D

My experience has been that getting ticketing done from fiji is very hard. Emails never get answered etc. Does anyone know of a specific fiji travel agency that is reliable or even responsive?

Cheap fares to France and Spain

Hi

My wife Cathy and I run a Bed and Breakfast in North Queensland.

We are seeking the cheapest ways to fly to Paris next February to spend a month in France and Spain.

Any ideas?

Probably not a xONEx unless you want to also visit the USA, Do you want to travel in business/first or economy.
