Low rate guarantee win at IC LA

I had booked the IC LA at the best avail rate of $264 ++. (Two rooms BTW)
I had then seen on Wotif.com a rate of $204 inc of taxes.
I did an LRG request and got back the following:

"Dear IainF

We understand you have many options when booking your reservations and for this reason InterContinental Hotels Group is happy you have chosen our web site to arrange for your accommodations.

You are scheduled to arrive at the InterContinental LOS ANGELES CENTURY CITY on October XX for 3 nights. Per our Lowest Rate Guarantee, your nightly rate will be 157.72 USD (which is 10% off the lowest rate you found), excluding any applicable taxes, additional person charges, or service charges. This rate is not subject to additional adjustments. Please refer to your original confirmation for the cancellation policy. Your confirmation number for this stay is xx_xx_X."
This will stil get me points etc. I am an AMB, but after this I may not get the upgrades....

Very nice! Let us know how you go when you check-in, you never know. I know of several members on here who have booked at the HI on Flinders, Melbourne on 5,000 point breaks and still received upgrades to suites.

I have had an upgrade at the IC in Melbourne on 5,000 point breaks. Not quite a suite but still a good upgrade. (To club level)

Weren't you one of the people who received an upgrade @ HI on Flinders too? Maybe it was Mal. My memory eludes me.....

I'm not sure. I have had a few suite upgrades there but have given up on them in recent times as I was not getting any upgrade for the last few stays. Hilton South Wharf is much nicer :!:

IIRC it was for AFF Gathering #1. Not sure if that helps to jog the memory? :mrgreen:

They mustn't have liked you, most other people I knew that stayed there with status got upgrades every time! :shock:
