So another one bites the dust. The LH group has finally moved to dynamic pricing (as foreshadowed some time ag), at least for awards on Lufthansa, Swiss and Austrian. They have also devalued partner redemption table to varying degrees. Comes into effect on June 3.
This will probably lower some economy awards - intra Europe - through accessing no frills (no seat, no bag) fares at lower than current awards, but general opinion that is it will see award prices skyrocket - particularly for long haul premium cabins.
In true corporate speak, email sent out with the header "Exciting changes to your Award Flights from June 2025 ". Is "exciting" the new "enhancement" doublespeak?
I don't know every time I see these sort of changes, essentially their transforming aspirational and engaging programs into mere % discount schemes. i.e Spend $1000 we'll give you $10/$15/$20 to put into an account we control the value of and when you have enough $ in the account you can buy a plane ticket with it. Same with hotel programs these days too.
