Luggage covers and TSA

I bought a Samsonite luggage cover during the last Black Friday sales and am about to use it for the first time for an upcoming trip to the USA.

It recently occurred to me that luggage covers can make work harder for TSA employees if they need to open my suitcase for a security check - they'd have to remove the cover to access the suitcase lock and they may/may not be bothered to put the luggage cover back on after they're done. The luggage cover itself is quite smug when fitted and putting it on does take a few minutes on the first attempt so I'm not confident if a TSA employee would bother with the hassle and instead throw it on the conveyor belt next to my suitcase.

Would like to hear any general experiences using luggage covers (good or bad), and also more specifically if anyone ever had a TSA security check performed on their check-in suitcases with a luggage cover on it.
