Luxury Escapes

It's the first time I've ever looked at the site and they a safari to Botswana which is high on my list. However, I am totally not familiar with accommodations etc in the area so not sure if it offers good value. Has anyone actually evaluated this tour?

It's back - St Regis Langkawi - IIRC other members spoke glowingly of this resort did they not? Similar deal?

It's a good deal, although used to be 1500 for the base room, but still excellent value. Bought this deal when it was first offered and went in 2017 (were even upgraded to an SR Suite then), and bought again late last year for a second trip in September 2019. Nice little resort, amazing scenery, but the beach is not great (for going into the water at least).

So what sort of things would you do at this place? Resort pool and chill and eat? :)

The idea of a butler puts me off, although it is somewhere I want to go.

Really? I don't think they make using it compulsory. It's more a single point of contact than a live-in manservant.

OK, that would be alright, we have a LE booking for Phu Quoc at the end of October, might be able to tie it in with that.

They don't appear to offer the ocean view room anymore, which is what we had.

I was in the St Regis Langkawi 2 weeks ago. Very nice hotel but nothing really to do. Beach is ok...but not when low tide. You can't sit around the pool as there are literally only a few chairs nearby, the rest are on the sand. Prices are ok considering. Breakfast is awesome, staff amazing and rooms beautiful.
The island really only has one attraction so not a great deal to do unless you like just reading a book on the beach. The so called Butler service is laughable though.

I noticed that LE had a comp to win a stay at a Seminyak resort. At the same time that same resort (I think the comp is still on), was on 'special' on LE for about 1/3 of the nominated 'value' of the prize.

A work colleague just got back from a ‘luxury’ escape in Indo.

Said it was absolutely rammed with ‘bogan’ Aussies and screaming kids. Hotel was fine, but people were not.

I’ve heard this feedback a few times now!

Where in Indonesia?

Pauly- it's not LE deals that cause that. It's the hotel and the cost and location.
Indo is cheap and close, so you get more people, esp more bogans, and more kids too.
I can assure you the the Conrad Maldives and similar deals with LE don't cause the hotel to be overrun.
As always you need to check the deal and the hotel, but I hear they have some good offers for those with no hotel status.
I've never used them, btw, but friends have and only had good things to say.

But also check how much it is booking direct with the hotel. For that Hilton offer in Tokyo the actual savings aren't great. In fact for the Executive floor offer it is marginally cheaper for me to book directly on a senior rate as the breakfast offer is taken care of with lounge access.
