Interest in assets: Macquarie worker caught ogling pictures of Miranda Kerr live on TV
mac420-420x0.jpg

An unfortunate Macquarie Bank worker captured on live television ogling half-naked photographs of Australian model Miranda Kerr has made headlines around the world.

Major British and American news websites have pounced on the terrible timing of the unknown banker, who admired racy pictures of Kerr, photographed by GQ magazine, while a colleague made a live cross to the Channel Seven newsroom yesterday.

How unfortunate - this is certainly one of those cringe factor moments... besides, who's thick enough to look at naked pics on a work computer in this day in age...

....had a bit of a laugh though!

Indeed - one would think that that type of conduct is frowned upon at the millionaires factory...

What a twit, anyone notice how he switches to Outlook when his collegue gets within viewing angles of the screen.

Silly (esp. so given the scope of the audience), but hardly a hanging (or even sacking) offence. The pix, (I'm led to believe, not having seen them...no, really!) are 'tasteful' and certainly light years away from being cough etc.

I guess it depends on MB's rules.

The story will go away quickly enough.

Towards the end of the "cross" he turns around and appears to laugh. He knew what was going on. He was doing it on purpose.

Funny? hell yes. Professional or appropriate? heck no.

Still, I thought it was a hoot. Spiced up that "Market Review" i'm sure.

(and the image was actually published in GQ, a magazine in every news agency - hardly cough).

LOL.... noice!

Said employee is still with Mac according to an article I read 20 mins ago but is supposedly scheduled to meet with his bosses sometime this week.

one word - FAIL

the truth is, I see more nudity, from a bus shelter billboard

Is there any excuse these days when everybody knows the rules at work.

It is a bit like drink driving - it is just not allowed - Full Stop.

As they say, if you're going to commit a crime or do something wrong, at least be good enough to get away with it!

Bad philosophy, but I agree in this case... FAIL. Surely this guy knew they were on television, or that office/area is always used for that purpose.

Begs to think actually why they use that angle/shot for those segments instead of the stock standard approach in news, i.e. a boardroom or backdrop.

Golden rule of television (2010 vers), never work with animals, children or Miranda Kerr

Hmm, that drink driving analogy may be apt - it is allowed up to 0.05 BAC, or whatever you can get away with. This guy was swigging grog in front of the booze bus (while pulled over and being breath tested). ;)

There goes her David Jones contract! ;)

If shooting live crosses from the floor of a workplace is the atmosphere they want, then they've got to accept that common office behaviour will be captured (and shooting someone's computer screen so close up was simply asking for it).

Don't think it's a sacking offence (I think it's been established pretty clearly that it wasn't cough), but this guy is definitely going to be in for a rough ride.

I do love it how the papers aren't backing away from the story after saying it was a naked photo of Miranda Kerr - now replaced by 'semi-naked'. I am slightly embarassed, because I think my entire photo library contains photos of me, my friends and family all 'semi-naked'. For shame.

You don't think it possible that he may have been emailed those pictures (or links to them)?

Actually I feel sorry for him given so many people in the office do this anyway. However he should know that it is on TV as I believe that the footage location is always the same.

Reading personal emails while at work?
This is explicitly allowed by our company's policy unless you're abusing it or accessing offensive materials. Most people use Internet at work for personal needs, don't they?

Our office internet policy is similar where we can access the net for personal reasons (and for sites which are legal, non-offensive, violent, sexual or gambling), for a "reasonable" period of time. Although "reasonable" is open for intepretation, my manager believes its 10 minutes during work hours and unlimited during your lunch break.'

Anyway, as much as a I feel sorry for the guy, it only proves to me that some MacBankers aren't as boring people as I thought ;)
