Took advantage of recent Jetstar sale to fly grandson up to meet us in CNS.
Of course could only get one fare at $89, so paid the $201 for the preferred flight back.
Another sale landed this week for $99 each way, could get both preferred flights at that price 🤔
Oh well, a hundred bucks less they get when I die.....

Better to give it with a warm hand than a cold one..

At least I took one of the kids with me on a recent trip. It was one of his bucket list destinations. He got both a trip and less inheritance from it. 😁
As both mine will since I’m income rich and lousily asset poor (divorce and taxes)

They were both on This trip for varying lengths of time
It’s been an entertaining experience that’s for sure

Some time ago we started doing AAMiles as Christmas presents by buying them on 100% promo around Thanksgiving. Was surprised that one ran out of Miles just over half way into the year.. May have created a problem but it is only money.

We had a good day today.

Checking out of the Hoover House B&B in Gwalia my wife bought me a book. I put it down to talk the woman at reception and, of course, walked out without it. I remembered it when we were far enough away that it would have cost more in petrol to return than the book cost.

Then as we were at Lake Ballard our German visitor found the key to her room in her jacket pocket. Initially she was going to post them back but in the end she was asked to drop them off at the council office in the next town along - Menzies.

Then we were walking around and I dropped the fly net for my hat somewhere and couldn't find it.

First time on RAM, Milan > Casablanca. Taking weekend off for birding down Agadir so not going to pay the 1,200 euro for J. In 9A and 8A seat is broken and in permanent recline. Had my laptop out to do some work but impossible with the seat in from so I put it down the side and forgot it when I got off. Remember it as I was transferring to domestic, and went into the typical panic. RAM were brilliant! I had it back in my hands within 5 minutes of reporting it. I was very impressed, but feeling the idiot. Came in handy as using it as I'm sitting in the RAM Dom lounge typing this. Of course could not celebrate with a wine or beer!

Yes, that must be the 2nd mistake - thinking the lounge in their primary location would be decent! It is anything but............. horrible place. Ditto for AMM and RJ.

But far better than sitting out in the domestic waiting area, been here for 5 hours! Least the seats are soft, although do need a clean......
The Casablanca lounge has two levels. Fortunately discovered this by accident
The food choices were pretty average

The CMN airport in general is pretty average. Dingy and dirty with a few shady characters hanging around.

AMM was way more modern, looked clean and had a J express path, while overly bureaucratic, did the job. RJ J wasn't anything to write home about.

Forgot to take a photo of full fuel gauge on rental car return to Budget/Avis Toulouse. Now fighting a €160 ($275) frais de carburant charge. Let me say Budget and Avis in France are awful to deal with and my last hope is trying to reverse the AMEX charge.

Has ever been so! Used it a lot in the early 2010s and I’ve never seen such open solicitation of bribes or money by security people before or since.

I keep forgetting that VA has 5% or 10% promo / discount codes usually available. Instead, I book at full price. Lucky they are the choice fares in the triangle so the loss is small but it's the principle of paying only what you need that counts. Now I remembered it when venturing into the VA forum here and seeing the thread title.

I need a memory prompt for this... 🙄

I had one of those moments during the TSC. Couldn’t use the promos on J fares I was looking at and then realised that my VA Biz account had the same discount anytime…
