For the booking itself? Doesn’t matter if you log in or not, if you go through to selecting a fare, the seat can be held.

But similar to the responses above, i’ve had that happen several times, including with award inventory. Waiting for a while usually returns the seat.

It’s a gamble, but if you know it’s 2am in the home country of the airline, you might risk that no one is booking at that time, and just give it 30 mins.
Just what I thought but it was 10 am in Europe.

Ordered a coffee to have with free chocolate hour at Movenpick and forgot to flash my Accor plus card for a discount.

Not quite a mistake but a miscalculation.

Wife would have made (did make) 1,000 Velocity SCs, and Platinum, with our PER-SIN flights on Boxing Day. She was going to be 2 flights short so booked revenue flights for her PER-MEL-SYD while daughter and I had award tickets.

We got back to Brisbane and I checked but she is still Gold. As it turns out our DPS-ADL-BNE flights were 18-Jan-24 and her PER-MEL-SYD flights were 22-Jan-25 so 2 sectors dropped off and she is now 37 SCs and 2 sectors short of Platinum.

She has Gold until July 2026 but I think it's still worth it for Platinum/Gold until March 2027. I think if I fly to SYD for the weekend in 3 weeks and the 3 of us fly to SYD end of March she can still make Platinum but I'm not 100% certain with all the changes to Velocity coming up.

An extra spontaneous trip to BNE last year meant that my previously booked DSC trip to AKL last weekend triggered my Loyalty bonus, which would have otherwise been triggered in May allowing me to claim the SCs in Aug in next FF year. Now I will have to claim them this year when they arent needed to retain status.

I should have left my FF number of the BNE trip, and then put in a retro claim after the SC issue had resolved itself.

For the past few days, it's been bugging me (without actively thinking about it.....) that my passport wallet felt a bit light. I've just realised what it was, the little black wallet thing I got when Hilton Premium Club existed (remember that, @straitman ?) has fallen out, somewhere along my travels home. I had my passport wallet open/closed so many times from GRU-MIA-LHR-DUB-LHR that I can't even work out where it would have been lost. Damnit.

Fortunately, I think the only cards in there were Revolut, Chase, and something else....... but they were all cards / accounts that have a zero (or sub £5 balance). Unfortunately, as they're app only banks, each card will cost to replace so that's a bit annoying!
