... Incidentally I was surprised that a first ticket isn't enough to get into AC, I needed to dig out my QC card.
Being inbound on a connecting international oneworld First Class should have been enough to enable access to the Flagship lounge rather than the A/C.

SO the next leg was AA 1698 to BWI, departing 1435.
Left on time.
Was a bit tired so few details. Slept all the way in 4B on the MD80

So,
arrived BWI at about 1820. Picked up the one bag I'd checked from LA with minimal wait. to kerbside by 1830.

Choices...taxi and fight rush hour traffic or train?

Got AMTRAK to Union station, $20 , left airport station at 1852, simple, clean, quick. Taxi from Union station to hotel another $15.

Finally check in about 30 hours after that alarm went off. My first stay with this chain, and calmly mentioned my bug bear about having to pay for internet, so was promptly provided with complimentary access.

Can I stop moving now please?

Once all posted, these sectors take me to Gold for first time.

(Insert tongue in cheek: The status credits and miles, they are not being yet having been posted to my account, even for BNE-MEL. I shall refuse to board QF ever again....Remove tongue out of cheek)

ooooooooooooomygod it's early o'clock. Alarm went off at 4am, easy drive to BNE airport from GC. Online checkin got me 1D (seq nbr11).

Now waiting in QC for QF605 BNE-MEL.

And the kids want pics of me everywhere I go....

Is that the formal version of Hi-viz in the background?

So if you are in 1A on the first AA sector who is the fellow in the beanie who seems to have followed you all the way and is in 1B.
Loving this TR.hope the Americans are loving it too.

And after a good 7 hours sleep, time to get up and think about going for a jog up the Mall past multiple Smithsonians....

Keep it up, action man (aka Wally). Top TR - as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words .

As a regular DONEx-ite, I don't have anywhere near your chutzpah, so please keep it up :).

I am LOL'ing all the way with this TR but I love it! You mention no more QF for you, can I ask which airline are you going to fly on next? :)

I think his real beef with QF is missing out on hot chocolate.

A busy day, meetings til about 6, then short catch up on emails.

Early Dinner:
Ceiba.
Modern South American. Seemed quite lively when I got there about 7.
Here's their menu

4 sample Cerviche.
Fresh, clean flavours, a little lively with the chilli, and not sure if mango goes with tuna

Crispy oysters, my new favourite bar snack (be careful not to dribble juices when you bite through crispy batter)

As you can see, I was dining alone. The service was efficient and quick...perhaps too quick? Certainly I was hungry, but dishes were brought very quickly. Nevertheless, one to try if you're in DC and want something that's not pretentious.

Time for a little walk before heading back to the hotel...I wasn't the only one hungry. Anyone identify what this was munching on fresh squirrel just round the corner from the White House?
