Maintaining Status Dates

My apologies if this has already been discussed elsewhere on the forum (couldn't see where it had however - hence this post).

My partner & I have status review dates of 20 November 2024 and 28 February 2025, and we have both maintained our current status for the next period. My question is has anyone come across the following?

My status renewal shows up on the VFF App as 20 November 2024, however if I login via the website, it shows that my status will renew on 5 December 2024.

My partner's status renewal shows up on the VFF App as 28 February 2025, however if he logs in to the website, it shows that his status will renew on 15 March 2025.

Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but since we KNEW our status renewal dates (which have been 20 November 2024 / 28 February 2025), we've been working out our travels to work towards maintaining status again (if that's actually going to be possible given the new changes - but that's another story).

Our problem arises insofar that we have no idea which renewal date will be the effective date (in our opinion it should be 20 November 2024 / 28 February 2025), and we have booked flights for 7-10 March 2025 and will be pooling to his account (as his renewal was supposedly 28 February 2025). If it's actually now 15 March 2025, well that creates a whole lot of issues for us in being able to have any chance of maintaining status again. Has VFF changed the goal posts along with everything else?

If anyone else has come across this issue, did you contact VFF to determine which date is applicable? I'm just looking for advice (if someone else has come across this issue) prior to contacting them myself to ascertain.

Many thanks in advance. Suz :)

Would never rely on the app.
Wonder whether the points are different too..
Website best for most things.
Hope you sort out this issue.

Appreciate the response. I’ll get in touch with VFF and try to sort it out. Very frustrating!

What are the actual words they use?

There is normally a Review Date, and a Card Expiry Date, which is normally 2 weeks after the review date. You can use the benefits in that time.

It actually states ‘your status will renew on 15 March 2025’ - which is 2 weeks after the actual review date of 28 February 2025. Mine says ‘your status will renew on 5 December 2024’ - my actual review date is 20 November 2024.

It’s very frustrating. Didn’t receive any notification or warning of this change and booked flights (back in July) based on a review date of 28 February 2025.

I’m going to write to them requesting that the review date be changed to reflect the correct date. Will see how I go.

You might like to do that, but in reality it will make little difference.

As you have requalified then it is best to just forget about anything other than your "review" dates.

With that requalification, your respective statuses will be effectively ongoing until 20th November 2025 and 28th February 2026 respectively.

Understood and appreciate the response, but if by chance VFF decide that our renew dates are two weeks later than they actually are, we miss the opportunity to earn DSC’s for the requalifying year as the flights are early March and will be pooled to my partner. He needs them to requalify given our travel schedule in 2025. I can only ask.

Now I understand. Good Luck ...

Like many others I too have a Feb 28th review date.

Does your review date on the website say 28 Feb 2025 out of curiosity? On the app it says 28 Feb, but the website states 15 Mar. 🤷🏻‍♀️

But if you click "How it works" below, it refers to the review date of 28 Feb 2025 + 2 weeks allowance:

Brilliant. Thank you so much for that 🙏. I hadn’t actually clicked on that (my bad). It shows 28 Feb 2025 as review date. Has never happened that way before (has always shown the actual date) hence our confusion. Appreciate the info. 😊

So wrote to VFF re my question. Received confirmation that 28 Feb was the actual review / renew date. As advised above there is a two week grace period to allow late SC’s to drop in. So good news!

Would probably prefer VFF make that clear under the member’s VFF account to ensure no confusion in the future, but I’ll make note of dates moving forward.

Thanks again to AFF members who provided advice. Greatly appreciated. 🙏
