I need 65 SCs by the end of April.

I have about 45,000 points and a $150 voucher that needs to be spent by the end of August. What's the most cost-efficient way to get Silver?

Bear in mind that most of my travel is self-funded, so no massive corporate expense account to achieve this with. The benefits of Silver (e.g. check-in) don't seem as good as the old days anyway.

Where are you based, or where will you be travelling to in the next month or so?

However, it's now 300 to earn whereas it was 350 and to retain was 300, now 250.

That 65 SC's represents about a 5th of the earn and a 4th of the retain (was a 6th and a 5th).

As asked, where is your nearest Airport?

For 150 SCs:
Fri 8 Apr 11 08:45 Melbourne 10:00 Hobart Qantas flightQF1011 Red e-Deal (YASA)

Fri 8 Apr 11 10:40 Hobart 12:25 Sydney Qantas flightQF1020 Business (JASA)
15:20 Sydney 16:15 Canberra Qantas flightQF771

Fri 8 Apr 11 19:35 Canberra 20:40 Melbourne Qantas flightQF483 Qantas Business (JASA)

$150 + 41000-odd points (QF website just crashed on me so can't remember exact amount!)

So many options from MEL - you could do return JASA MEL-HBA, (32000 points and $107) for 80 SCs. Or paid red edeal to HBA then JASA HBA-CBR (100 SCs) and another red edeal CBR-MEL. Depends on if there is anywhere you'd like to go or if it'd be a purely SC gathering exercise...
