Can you imagine visiting the QF F lounge in Syd, then stepping onboard the new MH A380 in F, getting to Kul, relaxing in the MH F lounge in Kul, and then hopping back onto your F seat on the A380 onwards to Lhr? I was going to do this with points....

Didn't say it would be better, just another tantalising option, esp. for those who prefer to transit through Asia as opposed to Dxb. If MH indeed do join OW, it also provides another option to get an award using QF pts in a premium cabin from Syd to Lhr.How would this be any better than doing it on EK or QF?
I'd have thought that most, maybe all, affected J and F customers would be able to cancel for a full refund? Still pretty annoying, but hopefully not a horrible outcome. Rebook with someone else who _is_ running the 380. Vote with your wallet, as always
Firstly equipment changes happens.
Secondly, good luck to any person wishing to cancel and get a refund
Why? I wasn't aware you needed to supply a 'good enough' reason to cancel a refundable fare?
Malaysia Airlines was keen to bring the A380 to SYD but had to do the u-turn because they weren't allowed to increase capacity between SYD and KUL when negotiations to increase the capacity cap broke down. AirAsia X took up what was left of the capacity cap leaving Malaysia Airlines no choice but to withdraw planned A380 services. If anyone is to blame it is the Government (aviation body) firstly and AirAsia X secondly.
