Malaysia Airlines Lounges at KUL

Yes, the Golden Lounge has the J lounge to the left on entry and the F lounge (which they also call “Platinum Lounge” on the right.
There was a lineup for the J lounge and it sounded very noisy with kids playing up.
The F lounge was almost deserted and was tranquil as well as being spotless.

I went to the lounge on the right last week. It was quiet and peaceful. The dining area had limited seating yet few guests. a la carte menu. Impressive service from the senior staff. Confident type. When there isn’t seating available guests are turned away and asked to return.

I did go to the J lounge afterwards but it seemed noisy and overrun. Buffet service.

F lounge recommended.

Not surprising - Malaysia Airlines is a government department after all, and Malaysia as a country is an incompetently run cesspit in many ways.

Wasn’t the lounge within the lounge “Platinum” at one point before rebranding the whole thing?
I think just a cosmetic rebranding. It's currently called Platinum. The MAS golden Lounge as it is collectively called has 2 entrances behind the reception desk.

The left side has always been the F/platinum and right side has always been the J

I have often gone from one to the other during the one visit. F/plat for those who want total peace and quiet with the attendants watching your every move. J is more relaxed.

I've always found MAS Golden Lounge at Int airport very pleasant

I’ve always found the F lounge clean and quiet with great service but the J lounge can be a bit of a zoo at times. Several years back the F lounge served me probably one of the best steaks I have ever had and one that I’d happily pay top dollar at a restaurant for. Our last visit was in November and I managed to get a couple of photos

Within the First/Platinum lounge (after entering on the right), there used to be a space/room reserved for invite only guests.

So having never been to KL airport lounge, as Emerald do I turn right or left? 🤷‍♀️😂. We will have around 2 hours there on April 30. Which is of course the end of my Qantas year but Thankyou Qantas. Will only have an expired card though.

You turn right - approach the desk and after showing your boarding pass they would direct you there anyway. (Presumably emerald will be associated with the travel reservation.)

It's actually an Award flight that hasn't been messed with by Qantas......yet.

I had an award flight through QF and am only a SG so when I approached the front desk they initially pointed me left but I showed them my QR Plat card on the app and they waved me through to the right.

We had the situation in Inverness last year on BA where the attendant insisted on seeing the physical card. For some reason it hadn't gone on the BP but it was booked through Qantas awards on a WP account. Finally she let us in. Our physical card will still be valid on 30 April but expired on return leg.

Surprised they still ask for physical card. I last received one (from any airline or hotel programme) in 2019.

I know. When we returned we applied online for a physical card from Qantas and it came! You can request through your Account settings.

Have never received one from QR despite numerous requests.
Hopefully my BAEC card arrives though for the reasons you stated
