Hi all

I am planning on booking reward flights from Australia to Manila then booking a return flight onto Europe from Manila.

With the outbound I will probably have about 5-6 hours between flights, would there be any issues with collecting bags and checking in within that time? Both flights land and depart from T3.

What airlines are involved, and are they on the same ticket or separate?

Checkin at MNL T3 usually opens about 4 hours before scheduled departure so you should not have too much of a gap to fill. Luggage delivery is usually fairly quick. I believe you can go from arrivals to departures without leaving the terminal but have never actually done so so can't confirm.

I have never been able to get through immigration in T3 in less than an hour arriving on QF 19.

I must lead a charmed life...4 times out of 4 this year I have cleared immigration in 15 mins or so. It can happen!

I have not been through Manila for 2.5 years so my last experience was when everything was "normal" and other arriving flights were being processed at the same time. Perhaps there are less arriving flights to T3 then when I last arrived. I will find out but I expect not until February 2023.

I would be interested in any updates on T3 transit. My wife arrives on QF19 redemption in J at18:50 connecting to TK85 at 21:25 on 1 Sep. does anyone think she will be cutting it too fine?

Well the last couple of days QF19 landed at 7.30pm and 7.44pm.

TK85 check in closes at 8.25pm.

Yeah I think it is definitely cutting it too fine.

When I flew in a few weeks ago on the QF19, passed immigration and collected our bags within 30 mins. Yesterday it took over an hour so your mileage might vary.

I would aim for a minimum 4 hour transit time if you were adamant on a same day transfer.
