I’m in the domestic Maple Leaf lounge at Montreal airport awaiting a flight to Vancouver. Access with 50K/*A Gold via my HSBC Star Alliance credit card.

Impressions? For a domestic lounge it beats the pants off QANTAS Club and even some QANTAS domestic business lounges. More varied and better quality food, spirits and wine.

Pleasantly surprised.

Good stuff - great to hear. When I used to haunt them 2010-2017, in general they were pretty dire. Basically soup or salad and limited drinks.

Yes, that's a pretty good lounge, especially the drinks selection. Do they still have hot meals available to order via QR code?

I’m not sure. The buffet had a selection of salad and dips, chicken curry, basmati rice, cream of mushroom soup, curry meatballs, pasta with a bolognese ragout and toasted roast beef & mustard sandwiches.

Gin was tanqueray. Didn’t take notice of the other spirits.

The buffet selection hasn't changed since 2016 then, or maybe it's turn in the batting order of options coincided with my visit.
