Marble Arch to Gatwick

So I just snapped up a BA fare to Nice but for the life of me I can't seem to find much information about shared transfers from our hotel to Gatwick?

I'm mindful of having luggage and not wanting to walk down the street to the tube to get on a train and then head out... there's only 2 of us, does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm thinking a Ford E350 type airport transfer that they have in the States etc...

Best way with luggage would be Cab less than 2 miles to Victoria Station, then train from Victoria to Gatwick. No steps from kerb to platform and plenty of room for luggage. great ideas, thanks guys - i had always heard of the horror stories about cost of cabs... just had a look and should only be 10-15quid to get from the hotel to victoria station.

Cabs are reasonable for short distances. You could even try Uber which has a big presence in London and usually has a sign-up credit which would cover the cost of your cab.

We used justairports in October . Fixed price, good service, nice estate and driver. Central London to Heathrow around £47 from memory. Lucky we didn't use cab since there were massive traffic issues because of a storm and travel time was over an hr.

Can I just add to this that there are fast National Rail trains that go from Victoria that stop at Gatwick only 3-4 stops along the way that are far cheaper than the Gatwick Express. If you aren't in a tearing hurry and want to save yourself a few quid, don't rule those out either. (1 stop before East Croydon, then Gatwick is after that, with the train continuing to Brighton IIRC)

Just checked the tfl website and the time difference is only 7 mins. I'm not sure about the fares, but with the GE being 20 pounds, I'm sure the national rail fare would be a lot smaller. Unfortunately the TFL website will not co-operate with me on the fare. Possibly because they don't want people knowing there's a much cheaper way of getting there?

this is of interest... i had a look and it seems like it will cost roughly 10-12 quid for a cab Double Tree Marble Arch to Victoria Station and then the Gatwick Express has a deal 2 adults for $36 so basically same price and a bit of mucking about.

I had a look on their site and it just refers to a Saloon but has pictures of a Mercedes - what kind of vehicle took you to Heathrow?

It was one of those Honda estate MPV things with sliding side doors from memory. If in doubt, phone them maybe?
