Given the recent merger of Marriott and SPG, I am looking at their Marriott Travel Packages in detail. It does have some great deal. I am looking at converting Amex MR points to SPG then to Marriott reward points.

I am looking at staying for 7 nights at Tokyo later this year, I am looking at purchasing the travel packages which gives me 7-night reward certificate plus a whole bunch of airline points of choice:

Flight and Hotel Packages | Marriott Hotel Packages

I am looking at Cat 8 Marriott hotels (either Tokyo Marriott or The Price Sakura Tower Tokyo) so I am looking at 360000 Marriott points ( = 120000 Starwood Points = 240000 Amex Points). This would get me 7 nights free on Cat 8 hotels, plus the following option of airline miles:

- 132000 United Mileage Plus
- 120000 BA Avios, or AA Advantage Miles, or Alaska Miles, or Delta Skymiles, or VS Virgin Atlantic
- 85000 Qantas Points, or SQ Krisflyer, or CX Asia Miles, or EK Skywards Miles, or EY Etihad Guest Miles, or Avianca LifeMiles

At the moment I could not decide which airline miles to get, as I still have a large bunch of AA, QF and VA miles.

The question is, which one would you choose and why?

I made a transfer to Aeroplan to take advantage of the 30% bonus and it took approximately 2 weeks for the miles to show up!

Have a 7 night Category 1-5 certificate as a result of transfer from Amex-SPG-Marriott-United.

Went to check Courtyard Pattaya the other day and find it is no longer part of Marriott. Lasted less than 2 years.

Now what? coughet or Hua Hin. Think I'd be bored for 7 nights. Any other suggestions or recommendations? Anywhere in Australia to consider?

We currently have a 7 nights certificate as well expire by Nov 2017 . Been doing alot of research of where to go with a family of 4 . It look like JW Marriot Phu Quoc is the best value for money as Cat 5 Hotel ( breakfast included ) with cash rate up to $450 USD per night .

Need to go to SGN and transfer to PQC . There is thread about this JW Marriott Resort in Flyertalk received alot of good feedback .

I've been there. Beautiful resort, very good staff. Gold and plats get freebreakfast which is a massive buffet. The best hotel buffet I've had. Evening coughtail hour as well.
There is not much outside the resort at all. It's far away from the main town in Phu Quoc. There is a nightly shuttle bus that takes you to the night market.
I wouldn't spend 7 days there, I felt 3 was enough.

AA running 25% bonus promo until June 15. That makes it 150,000 miles on the top flights and nights redemption.

Trying to ascertain how useful AA miles are though getting to/from Europe in J.

AA are Oneworld partners with Qantas etc. Also, good for Etihad flights to Europe. Nice bonus too.

Anyone redeemed recently Marriott Flights & Nights for AA Miles with this promo? Want to know how long its taken for the initial transfer of miles to hit your AA account.

I redeemed Marriott travel package 7 nights and points towards AA, called Monday 12/6, and AA points in accounts today, 14/6, which is 132k points. Just wonder, is bonus points normally should hit at the same time or come in later? I know the offer will be end tomorrow, so should I give them a call to check it out? Any advice? Thanks.

I've done 3 packages with AA during the promo period and the whole 150k was given straight away. Are you sure you are doing AA and not United? United gives 132k with the usual 10% bonus. AA without bonus is 120k.

Agreed with what potm said - I did 2 packages with AA on this promo and in both cases, the 150k came through as one transaction (so not even 120k as one line, then 30k as another lines - just 150k dumped into my AA account). I'd call Marriott first to find out what happened.

Are AA miles easy to redeem in business for 2+ seats 300+ days out? I dont know if i should redeem aa miles as ive never booked with them before

Thanks guys.. I think is my mistake.. yes, I have go through United and not AA :( As I am thinking to use Star Alliance. Ok, time to find another 20k United miles then. Thanks for answer my questions.

I found a lot of value with AA booking JAL J class flights. 40k one way J from MEL-NRT, 52.5k NRT-HNL, plus about $60 AUD taxes per sector. Very easy to search via ba.com.

Star Alliance does seem to have better availability... but seems stingy on USA flights again. Where are you headed?
