Any experiences putting Mauritius into a RTW or OneWorld package?
The only viable alternatives I can find are BA from London either direct or via Johannesburg or, I think, Cathay from HK.
Ideally I would place it in a westward progress from east and south Asia onward to Europe. I am surprised that I cannot find a QF partner airline that flies there from the Indian subcontinent when the predominant Mauritian caste is Indian.
I would want at least a fortnight there to carry out family history research (not a beach holiday).

UL recently signed an agreement with Air Seychelles which might be worth looking into: SriLankan Airlines in partnership with Air Seychelles

Passengers on SriLankan Airlines (www.srilankan.com) will have expanded options to fly on Air Seychelles to Johannesburg, Mauritius, Madagascar and the domestic destination of Praslin in the Seychelles

EDIT: Also worth mentioning EK appear to be one of the main international carriers into MRU. Appreciate you can't use these flights in a RTW award, but DXB would be a better stopover than HKG or LHR (lol)

A side trip from DXB is that an option? (QF partner.....)

I included MRU in the last phase of an AONEx some years ago, flying direct on BA from LHR, then afterwards on to JNB. I didn't look for any other options.

If you are doing an xONEx, and have plenty of time, longer sectors are more rewarding ;).

I tried to fit Mauritius into my current DONE4, and the only way was the one JohnM just mentioned.

Something came up which prevented it - I think the leg from JHB is now a code share, so no longer available on a DONE4, but don't hold me to that.

Good morning- we left MRU yesterday (for CDG). We did look at options with OW but they didn’t work with a baby. Via DXB and JHB. The BA one sounds the most promising for next time. So we joined AF amd flew MK from PER.
